I'll take it, since I was first to post

*Voice inside my head: "You greedy bastard!"*

Ok, damn near impossible here. Who led the Seattle Mariners in home runs in their inaugural season of 1977 with 27 long flies?

Don't now why people on here don't like being cooks, remember under siege: A former SEAL, now cook, is the only person who can stop a gang of terrorists when they sieze control of a US Navy battleship.

You want me to ask an easier one? A true Mariners fan would know. Not that he's famous, but you should know your team's history.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for your team, but since the thread isn't titled "A more democratic sports trivia thread for rabid mouth-breathing Mariners fans who would gladly pay five hundred dollars to watch their girlfriends get spit-roasted by Ichiro and the zombified remains of Jay Buhner", you might want to ask a more broadly accessible question.

Gorman Thomas? Know there's no shot, but he's the only Mariner I know who played before Griffey.

It was Leroy Stanton.

How about this:

Name the last five teams to win the Stanley Cup.

As Meatloaf would say:

"4 out of 5 ain't bad!"

Ok. Maybe I misquoted. You, Incandenza, are ALMOST correct.

It was either the wings or the avs...

New question:
Name five stadiums/arenas in the four major sports that do NOT have corporate naming rights.

For the record I'll add Joe Louis Arena (home of the Red Wings) and The Palace of Auburn Hills (home of the Pistons). Gotta represent Detroit!

Sweet, most of them are in the Midwest, go Midwest!
Anyway:
Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers became the second fastest person in MLB history (since the Modern era) to hit his first 15 carrer home runs (51 games) Who is the only person to do it faster, and how many games did it take him to do it?

ok, i will guess eddie matthews, b/c he was a brave (therefore i love him), and also incredibly good in his first few years, and b/c he was in milwaukee when it happened. i'll guess and say, uhhhh, 45 games.....

and i'll also predict, for all posterity to see, that ryan braun will NOT be a successful or even remarkable MLB player....i watched him when the braves played the brewers earlier this year, sort of reminded me of pat burrell....not a good thing......throw him the slider and he's gone......

nope, he isn't even the third fastest to do it (Bill Schroder-Brewers-82 games) this is a good question apparently

and Ryan has a nice swing and batting stance, if we can get him to be a good fielder we'll have it made

Perhaps Big Mac in 48 games?

He did hit 49 homers his rookie year... but then again, there's a wee little voice in my head saying that the previous year he had some at-bats as a fill-in/september callup...
