Id disagree on this one on a few counts. First, I think the book will be a success financially. Palin has a pretty solid appeal in her base and even people outside of it will probably account for a pretty healthy number of buys even if only to rip it apart.

I also think seeing how we react to party leaders is one of many different barometers to view how we treat the sides as a whole. Obviously individuals will have variation because of idiosyncracies and timing but these individuals are still placed into high status positions. Even if only to enhance their own bottom lines, there is a vested interest in those who disperse information in reacting to these prominent individuals in a certain way. When there are notable differences, they should be accounted for.

I never said those things, but you have accused me of it.

What I do say is that luck has as much or more to do with success as hard work and that failure has much more to do with luck than hard work, in may cases (though there are absolutely plenty of people who just plain are lazy, etc.)

I support the free market generally, and have said that on many occasions. However, it is not the pannacea that you like to claim. The free market needs to have controls and, in a few cases, does not work well at all.


And I have said over and over there is nothing at all wrong with profit or getting wealthy. The problem is that right now, too much of what people take as personnal wealth is not truly profit. This includes the outrageous bonuses that many executives now reap, even when they run companies to the ground. It has particularly to do with wealth gained from "equity funds" (otherwise known as "leveraged buy outs") becuase they almost always result in a good company being run to the ground.... etc.

hmm, audacity of hope back up my statement. why do you have to be the one to introduce garbage, literally? as far as im concerned, between me n you its about 8-0, you should be negative points, but even though you use the "garbage" argument every single time, the judges won;t dock you points becuase at least you came up with something

Trouble is, too many people don't even know what left wing media is saying. They are so used to plain conservative media that anything approaching center is "left wing", except when it comes to some very specific issues (race, gender mostly).

As was said above, I don't mind left OR right wing media. That's opinion. Agree or disagree. I mind the ones that pretend to be "objective" while voicing a lot of virulant and highly biased "information".

Would you say the political commentators on MSNBC are center? People take what they say as serious news.

They are definitely not truly left, only a bit more left than many of the "standard" commentaries. However, even the truly "right wing" commentaries can have areas where they are actually leftist (mostly to do with race and some gender issues .. things that were radical just a generation ago, but now are accepted by all, such as the idea that its OK for a woman to head a company).

If you want truly left wing, try listening to Democracy Now or Alternative Radio (just to name some that I know of and that I know to be accessable.

(race and gender were already mainstream, no longer strictly rightest by then) Now, with those same views, I am "suddenly" a rabid leftist. I have not changed, the widely accepted definitions of "left" and "right" have changed.

I still don't accept much of the true left...absolutely not the radical left. However, I do try to keep abredst of various ideas, so that my thinking is not so heavily tainted by just one side.

It does not worry me that some people are heavily conservative or heavily leftist. I dislike the strongly conservative bent that our country has taken of late. However, what truly frightens me is that so very, very, very many now think that we are NOT conservative, will blithely say things like "that MSNBC is just leftist" .. and further, believe it, becuase they don't know anything different.


If you want to hear some real left wing stuff (and note, this is still not truly radical left wing, for the most part, these are the more reasonable voices, but quite different from standard media), you can find 2 programs every Friday, at 7 and 8 PM pm this station

Alternative Radio has podcasts, but you have to pay to listen outside of the Friday broadcasts (other times, other places no doubt, but I don't know where or when).

We get it, you dont like the current administration, yet you dont actually have anything of interest to add despite your efforts to post as many threads about the same topic (restated) as possible. As long as we are predicting things that can never happen, as you dont actually have 8 different topics you can talk about I am going to say from here on out I have defeated you in all arguments because not actually making an argument has disqualified you from every single you post you have made prior to now and all subsequent posts in the future.

Also, the public option is totally meant to compete with private plans! The question is not dishonest at all; critic's opinions are not ironclad fact.
