Of course I'm interested in working with the community! I read through your entire topic and took into account your suggested layouts and people's feedback on them. This is what I propose, and I need my own topic to run polls.

Honestly, I dont think you have to respond to something so ridiculous as this statement....when this is a thread asking for opinions...lol

anyways...I see the side stats button is there, so we can find the ratings of each player quickly...and, it is much neater without them there constantly... this layout works fine with my screen, which went from 19" to 18" as of last night. :(
I'm Spanking Monkey now....err...I mean I'm a Spanking Monkey now...that shoots milk
Too much. I know.

Where's the neither option...

As stated before the Game Information line can be at the top...

But the spoils need to be at the bottom.

Refresh Button needs to be available - but the others don't and could be hidden away as they're not things that need to be pressed all the time (unlike the refresh button)

Whilst you're at it - can I suggest you add a shortcut to the refresh button.

The title etc is much better across the top and not top right.

Thanks yeti.

There have been quite a few complaints about game information being up on top so I'm hesitant to keep it up there. Also, I think a hotkey for refresh could have an adverse affect on the server!

Oh, it's some very complicated stuff written in a language that can only be deciphered by turtles.

+lackattack> thanks for hosting the poll. If those game stats get changed to the bottom of the map, then I'm going to go to the nearest night club and bang 3 taiwanese girls in one night to celebrate

People would use it a lot more than the current link. Each refresh map hit is a relatively expensive hit on the server.

Is refreshing the page the same as clicknig the link?

Yes - the information that people have been complaining about is the Spoils being above everything... The type of game etc - isn't nearly as relevant in the middle of a turn...

Refresh button could have an adverse affect - but Clicky maps already has it - and if you wanted - you could put a timeout on that... or if there is no refresh to be done (i.e. nothing has changed - return a "nothing to do" return - in fact this would be a great thing to code anyway?)

It's no worse than people constantly hitting the refresh button though... - and it's most definitely better than people pressing F5 instead.
(A hotkey that already exists - and is more widely known about)

C.

PS - I don't see very much different in the new proposal than the existing layout?! (Existing being the "original" layou)

Refreshing the page (F5 - or button at the top) is more expensive than clicking the "refresh map" link.

I guess I will summarize the input with this picture:

Features: proper refresh button placement, spoils reverted to bottom, other info stayed up at the top.

Cheers.

I voted for the new one, but only for if the link is above the map, not stuck in the top corner like on page 1.

Any chance of adding the map name (and link to the development thread) somewhere near the game no/tournament name?

I fully agree with this. The link to the map's thread is rather buried as it is, and those threads are very useful, especially to the BETA maps. Just the map name linking to the thread (similar to tournaments) under the game number would be perfect.

To bring the countdown closer to the action panel.
ahhh, that makes sense.

Although, it would be quite nice if that info were to be either top or bottom aligned, so other use might be made of that empty space. :)

I guess this is a question more for foxglove, but it is connected to this topic. Is there anyway to have a pop-up game clock for us speed freaks?

Cheers.

The map name would be nice. But the tournament area only appears for tournament games.

Should it go in the list of other settings (already long - this will make it wrap for more people) or up on top
i.e. Game # Round # Map XXX

Or somewhere else???

Just put it under the game number.

I think it should either in the "refresh map, larger map, add colour codes" section, or near the game number - because this is not a useful information and should not take important space.
