I live in an appartment, so your neighbours's appartments already kind of heat your place. i got tiles in the kitchen/dining room and the ground isn't really ever cold. Also, I don't know in which part of the US you live in, but it's most likely much colder than paris in winter (but it's just an assumption)

Pacific Northwest. But I grew up on wood heat. We didn't have gas or electric heat. Trying to heat an entire house from one stove is difficult.

Yep. I think it's an education problem. Not so much trouble for previous generations that drank coke in the afternoon and from little bottles, but then the big sizes arrived and they started to drink it like in the US and gave them to the kids.

I used to drink more coke when i was younger. Mainly because we own a grocery store and when i was there I'd just open one whenever i wanted. Now i rarely drink it, and when i do i clearly notice the effect it has on my stomach.

The problem with carbonated drinks is that, besides the sugar spike and empty carbs, they actually make your stomach bigger over time and you feel like you need to eat more.

And yes, cocacola gives fridges to everyone who wants to sell their products. We have a reach in fridge and we dont have them but if we asked for one we could have it in a couple of days.

You can make more money with cocacola products than with beer actually, given the amount of people that drinks sodas multiple times a day. And the profit margin is higher, since beer companies have their own stores everywhere and they fix the sort of fix the final price.

Here in europe it s pretty much frawned upon to drink soda while you eat. Just water and wine, eventally sparkling water. I really feel like crap when I drink soda while I eat. I remember that when i was in a US university, the Dinning commons had nothing but soda with all you can drink fountains. You had to ask for water! Crazy.
I really think those drinking habits are the main cause of obesity, not what people eat.

1 cup of white rice
5 cups of water
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 tablespoon vainilla
1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2/3 cup sugar (some lady in the comments said it was good but a little too sweet so you might want to adjust)

Water and rice in a blender for approx 1 min. Leave the mix in room temp. for at least 3 hours. Strain and discard the rice. Add milk, vanilla, cinnamon and sugar. Mix it well. Refrigerate it and it's done.

I agree that in areas where spills and dirt is common carpet is gross, but in a your living area, assuming you have a decent vacuum cleaner and aren't a slob, then carpet is great. It's a lot more "comfortable" than hard flooring.

I have laminated wood floor in my bedroom, over tile. I installed it myself, and it was very cheap. It has lasted more than I thought.

I've seen both awesome wood floors and awful wood floors. It seems to depend on how much $$ you put in them. What I do hate is when they make noise in ever step.
