I have been on other gamesite forums where newcomers are restricted from posting until amod decides they can be trusted and has to manually add this permission. I dont know how they make that call because they wouldnt tell you, nor would they tell how long it actually takes as spammers could then figure it out and game the system.

It is pretty confusing for the newcomer and a little disappointing as they want to get involved and ask questions etc.

Yesterday was the first time i have seen spam here and to be honest if that is the extent of it i say its a worthwhile tradeoff.

Well Bob that's where a few gamesites ran into the problem not sure which one your talking about but as long as they are actively discouraging it seems no one messes 28th that,but the one I previously spoke of by what I understood they got their cage rattled by almost every major country in the world, lawsuits, refusal to allow the game to be played etc. But every site is different so watch and see if it becomes prevalent here, once these people find a site with little or no restrictions on the time it takes to post on forums they make hundreds of accts a day to post their crap over and over

Most of us check in multiple times / day and can handle the spam fairly readily unless it's a busy / bad day. I'm sure TeeGee would love a little help but even still it got dealt with 6 hr +/-.

Yes ice tee gee is on top of his game, I at one time became a mod for grepolis, and 12 of us couldn't keep up with what happened, hundreds a day one every open world 24 hrs a day for several months before control was regained. Now they pop up once in a while but its alot harder, and I ended up getting hacked by one of them, my Skype account lost my gmail gone so, yes I know what I am talking about, they use people to start then switch to bot type programs to flood the site

haven't read more than half of the first page, but the owner gets more page views and more ad space with more forum users. A freemium that will never buy premium and never generates page views on forums is less useful for the site.
The most interesting revenue definitely comes from membership, no questins asked, but a freemium that isn't generating a lot of ad space and that will never buy premium nor never recomend the site is less useful to the site.

And lets see hmmm, joined on 21 Feb, almost a month and still going, almost immediately went to forum and started posting.

Think about it is the current system functioning effectively?

Ok I will tell you straight up sym, the last time i filed a complaint, and it wasn't against you go figure huh, I filed and filed, that person was clearly breaking CC rules and guidelines, finally I got mad and wrote some foul stuff in the last couple of reports, and it got the attention of MODERATERS, and the conclusion was if I ever spoke to the moderater again I WOULD BE PERMA BANNED, and that is why I haven't filed a complaint again

It actually is functioning pretty effectively. C&A cases are handled fairly expeditiously, and trouble users are handled as needed.

Yeah, I get it, I've been on the receiving end of your wrath before. Perhaps, and I word this carefully, the problem is on your side.

Most of the mods here are open to discussion, but abusing the suggestions forum because you've abused the C&A forum too much seems a step too far.
