I'm inspired by an argument I overheard in GC this morning. In this tournament, you will fight to restore the glory of the Habsburg Empire. It is a simple two-round tournament.

Game Load: Game load in round 1 is seven games. The second and final round is also seven games.

Number of players: 25 players total, composed of five factions of five players each.

To sign up, you must choose an ethnic faction, which will translate into the map you will fight on in round 1. PLEASE SPECIFY YOUR FACTION WHEN SIGNING UP. I will give reminders to those who forget, but if you do not specify a faction even after being reminded then your sign-up is invalid. Once each faction has five players, it will be closed, and anyone else signing up will be asked to change their faction choice. Once all factions have five players, the tournament begins.

The ethnic factions, and their corresponding round 1 maps, are:
German (Holy Roman Empire map)
Northern Slav (Czechoslovak Fragmentation map)
Southern Slav (Yugoslavia map)
Magyar (Magyaroszag map)
Italian (Unification Italy map)

First Round Settings: All games will be on the map specified for the factions. There will be 7 games: Sunny Escalating Unlimited, Foggy Escalating Chained, Sunny No Spoils Adjacent Trench, Foggy Nuclear Parachute, Sunny Zombie No Forts, Sunny Flat Rate Adjacent Trench, Foggy Flat Rate Unlimited, all with a 50-round limit.

Scoring: You gain 1 point for winning by round limit. You gain 3 points for winning sooner.

Finals Settings: The Finals will be played on the Austro-Hungarian Empire map. All games will be Flat-Rate, Foggy, and with a 50-round limit. Three Trench games will be Adjacent, Chained, and Unlimited. Four non-Trench games will be Parachute, Adjacent, Trench, and No Forts.

Tiebreaker: If there is a tie, in either round, it will be broken with a Sunny Escalating game between all tied players (1v1 if 2 players are tied, 3p if 3 players are tied, etc.)

Special GA round: While the Finals are being played, the second-place finishers in each faction will play a single game on the Europa map, Foggy Flat-Rate Unlimited, and the winner of this game will earn a GA medal.

Looks like we'll have some tiebreakers to play.

Among the Germans, persianempire wins 1st and chidone is 2nd, no tiebreaker needed.
Among the Northern Slavs, I am unquestionably 1st but there is a 4-way tie for 2nd place.
Among the Southern Slavs, uckuki is absolutely 1st and shoop76 is definitely 2nd.
Among the Magyars, mcshanester29 is definitely 1st and Silly Knig-it takes 2nd.
Among the Italians, there is a 3-way tie. I guess this will require two tiebreakers, one to establish first place and one to establish 2nd. To avoid wasting time waiting for the first game, I'll do a 3-way game for first place and 3 1v1 games for 2nd (2 of the 1v1s won't count, depending on the outcome of the first.) This way the 1st and 2nd can be settled simultaneously.
