Football schedules include both in conference and out of conference games. Usually the first 2 weeks are "warm ups" sort of like a pre-season that's why there were so few games. Pretty much for the next 7-9 weeks every team will have an inconference game every week with probably one off week throughout.

Oh yeah, of course!
I love College football, I should've thought of that. I think what screwed me up was seeing LSU play Miss St in their first game of the season. It made me think that the SEC has so many teams that they have no room for out of conference games.
