Yeah, he's cool. It's just that his tracks are so....fucking good. Listening to charmaine or Suzanne is like fucking up your good mood with a chainsaw. It's depressing, but brilliant.nagerous wrote:thought he was cool 'cos he supported arsenal.

You can find examples like that from all styles of poetry, not just rap.

Well if there were I bet they probably got smacked done by Biggie Smalls and Tupac a while back. Those guys made mean dissing video. As for right now I don't think so.jonesthecurl wrote:Never been a rap fan, and usually can't be bothered to give it enough attention to hear what they're singing. Reading some of the above lyrics reassures me that I probably have better things to do with my time.
Aren't there any man-hating girl rappers?
Word. Everything predominately dominated by men will have misogynistic things. Like women talk about men, so do men talk about women, it's just that men are overrepresented in music so you'll notice it there earlier.william18 wrote:Lots of rap artists don't put misogyny in their music, but sometimes by one verse in one song pops up and contains abuse of women. You can't truley get rid of misogyny from happening even if you try. A little bit shouldn't seriosly bother someone.

I believe so. At least a few female rappers who rap about treating men like shit. Example: Rah Digga, who is a friend of Busta Rhymes and often raps with him.jonesthecurl wrote:

not his best verse, but it's still crazy impressive that he could go that long using the l.s.d.l.s.d.l.s.d.....Aesop Rock wrote:Lazy summer days

Yeah Tupac never said anything about mistreating women, besides Hit em-up, when he starts insulting Biggie.nagerous wrote:2 examples of non misogynistic rap by tupac.

Well it goes to show doesn't it? That mistreating women-stuff wasn't about actually doing it but more of a joke.william18 wrote:Yeah Tupac never said anything about mistreating women, besides Hit em-up, when he starts insulting Biggie.nagerous wrote:2 examples of non misogynistic rap by tupac.
Random interruption as Grooveman rises from the grave: This is terrible haiku. You used 7/5/6. Make "I'll" "I will" for success.InkL0sed wrote:I'm a smart motherfucker

But should you be allowed to freely talk hateful and dering remarks? Free speech is necessary for a thriving culture in today's world, but where does it cross the line?swiftred wrote:Thing is Mandy, even it is mysoginstiuc, free speech etc -you start banning music, where does that lead.
yeah, thats always the prob, like race hatred etc just pointing it -you want to start from the position of, is this really doing much harm? in the case of rap, its notIliad wrote:But should you be allowed to freely talk hateful and dering remarks?
