you must have missed this, cause its in the "rejected" section of the to-do list. Its called "rank/score limits for joining games"
They rejected it because everyone would set their scores high and n00bs, cooks, and other low level people wouldnt be able to join any games becuase everyone would be set higher than their score.
Can we have an option to search games by the lowest rank of the involved players? Like a box where I could type in say, 1200 and it will only come back with games that don't have players with less points then that.
on the "Game Finder" page would it be possible to have a search criteria box that says something to the effect of "show only games with players of my rank" (and maybe higher)? of course this would apply only to games which are waiting for players still.
I guess when creating a game there would have to be a "restrict game to players of my rank" button, so maybe this isn't a good idea.
I really don't want to exclude players of lower ranks from all the games I play, but if such a search option existed, it would be nice to have.
If you'd like to make a suggestion, please do so in the Suggestions Forum. But first, please read both stickies at the top of that forum so you know if it's already been suggested and to know how to use the proper suggestion form.
Suggestion Idea: Have selective choice over opponents' or teammate(s)' skill level when creating a game.
Specifics: Have check boxes in the game set-up, which gives the game creator the option to restrict those joining a game to specific ranks.
Needed because this will allow for: -Experienced players not have to deal with new recruits if they don't wish, thus limiting current problems with excessive deadbeats.
-Players to play with other players of similar skill levels (something to be valued in team games)
-New players not having to face powerful opponents right off the bat if they don't want to.
"stay out of malibu, labowski. stay out of malibu, deadbeat."

Already been suggested and rejected, if I'm not mistaken.
Make a private game and invite people of a certain rank, if you so choose to.

dont got to be so mean john but yea this wont be good because all the higher ups wont want to play with new recruits so new recruits wont have as many game options and so they wont be able to play/stay

I wasn't mean to the original poster, nor was I mean to the other guy.
Merely said that it wasn't a good idea

Lackattack has already mentioned that the update coming sometime this month will include new deadbeat measures, so creating "elitist" games isn't going to change anything.
There are far better things that can be done for this site than allowing players to protect their points too much. Be a man and take on the lower ranks and see if you can keep your points where they are.
This might have been suggested many times before but I really couldn't think of what to search for to see if it has.
I was thinking of having the ability to create a game that limits who can join by their rank. I start tons of games and I always seem to end up playing against low ranks and it just gets frustrating sometimes.
There should be an option when starting a new game to filter out players by rank, deadbeatness and reputation. I hate starting a new game to find 3 of 6 players are noobs and they all deadbeat during the game. For example I would like to start a new game with the following options.
This has been rejected, as it seperates the community a little too much. If you don't want to play public games, create Private games or Join public games last.
When we have 'Rivals' up (Clans, guilds, usergroups, etc) you can join a group of people that is similarly minded.

Hmm... there should be an option when starting a new thread to filter out readers by mod status. I hate starting a new thread to find that 3 of 6 posters are mods and they all shut down the thread or reject my proposals...

Well, what you can do, alstergren, is go to the Plugins and Addon's forum, download the script that hides 'unwanted user posts', and voila. You wouldn't have to read any of the mod posts.

But I like playing public games. Why should I go through the hassle of setting up a private game and inviting people when I could simply start a game and set up a simple filter to block deadbeats and players with bad reps? Why should I have to troll through maps, which I cannot sort by the way, looking for the maps and settings I like? Why should I be forced to join a clan if I simply want to play a game without 3 players deadbeating?

I think that "hassle" is relative and that "forced" and "have to" are both a little strong in the context.
Nonetheless, perhaps the CC team will see how narrow-minded it is being on these points and add an "everything as RecklessB would like it" button on every page that would intuit just what you wanted and make it so in any given scenario ...

Could you make an option in "Start a game" and "Game finder" to have the option of searching or starting games in which the lowest rank that can join is that of a Luetenant or Capitan. I would much rather know that when I lose games it is because of better strategic warfare, than dumb luck with dice.
