about halfway through this ban and in hindsight it is still a bad judgement. aside from messing with the BpB contest, the mods haven't enforced this new 6 posts in 16 hours rule in the forums despite it being violated non-stop. way to go team CC, you win again.

How is brett trolling? He defends his friend against an unfair ban and points out that others who have done the same as he is accused of get away with it. This is a thread after all protesting what happened. Owen got under some people's skin who had the power to ban him and they did so. They could have called him out instead publicly in the threads that he posted but didn't. They used their power to silence and punish him rather than to confront and tell him to piss off. It was petulant and cowardly. I may be a Bandit now but I'm surely Owen's least favorite and maybe he mine. When we have a disagreement I tell him what I think man to man. The thing is there isn't free speech here on the CC forums. It is a privately owned website that has moderators to ensure what is said in the forums isn't offensive, isn't trolling, etc. The notion of free speech is silly.

The argument does not relate to whether or not free speech is an entitlement on this forum. Let's just bury that vein of thinking right there, young e-barristers.

The idea is that while yes, conquer games are nice, CC would only be a shadow of what it is now (if it still existed) were it not for the emergent culture of its forums.

Are the forums more interesting with free speech, or under totalitarian rule? It is lack's discretion how he will govern his boards on his site, but it is in his rational self-interest to let owen fly free, free as the wind blows, free as the grass grows.

And Uncle Death, let me just say that I'm a tournament mod, and have no power outside of that realm. In fact, since all I do is shuffle threads, I don't really have any "power" at all. But to answer your question on how I consider it to be trolling: Every time the user jbrettlip posts in this thread, he says the same thing. And in this instance, the thread had been inactive for 11 days. He then comes back in to post the same argument that has been made over and over and over again. That is pretty much the definition of trolling as I understand it.

I'm in no position to offer any "warnings" or "threats". I am just looking at the situation logically, and in my opinion, if you REALLY believe the mods are trigger happy in issuing trolling bans, then it may be smart to not make the same argument, in an inactive thread, that has been made time and time again.

Serbia and I are in the cool kids club, which I was unfortunately rejected from but then added to another cool kid's club which is probably cooler than the former club but maybe not because I've been out of touch with the quality of cool in the former club. Nevertheless, the latter cool kid's club could be the cooler of the two, but what were we talking about again?
