WHat's this new one? why it's the song lyrics of the week.
This week's song lyrics are....
"Stay lady stay. Stay while the night is still ahead. I long to see you in the morning light. I long to reach for you in the night. Stay lady stay. Stay while the night is still ahead."
From Lay, Lady Lay by Bob Dylan
Would have gone with;
"Wanna tell you a story
'Bout a woman I know
Ah, come to lovin'
Ooh, she steals the show
She ain't exactly pretty
Ain't exactly small
Forty-two, thirty-nine, fifty-six
You could say she's got it all!"
From Whole Lotta Rosie-AC/DC (Bon Scott era)

Yes but unlike you I acknowledge that there are bands other than AC/DC

Guns N Roses overrated, Not big on Skid Row or Bill Hailey and the Comets. Metallica is good, rest of the list is fine (especially Black Sabbath and Ozzie) except Kiss which is one of the worst bands in existance.

WHo Kiss? they made a living by taking the commercialization of rock music to a new level or rather down into the trashy trailers where any crap will pass as long as it makes money.

So, they commercialized hard rock before hard rock was commercialized in the 80s?

All rock is commercialized to an extent at least now of days, shouldn't be any situation where people can make crappy music and be applauded simply because it makes them a lot of money.

That doesn't answer the question though. KISS has been big since at least the mid to late 70s, when the crave was for the hippy rock and/or druggie rock.
strike wolf wrote:Maybe I misunderstood the question.
KISS was one of the first bands to bring hard rock senter stage when, as I said, hippie and/or drug rock was ruling. It is kind of hard to commercialize something if it is just kicking off.

Umm..what's your definition of Hard rock?

And keep in mind this is 1977 hardly anyone was rocking this hard. If you were around then you'd know and if you wern't you probably have some brilliant response.
Oh look they played this song last year in Australia.
Ok I went back a page and your list is not as bad as I expected. I have no idea why you don't get Kiss. Is it really just because you're envious of their marketing capabilities?
and of course you know I'm always down for discussing music
