Cheapness is but an illusion. See, in a game, you need to play to win. Military virtues thrive over real world ethics and honor. Abuse cheap tactics mercelessly, almost every tactic has a counter, and using the same tactic over and over will make you predictable. Whiners shall recieve no mercy.

That said, Fox has two weaknesses.
1) He is INCREDIBLY easy to combo against
2) He is a pain to play properly.

Fox's limits stretch into the human reaction time. Where other characters have a limit, Fox has no limits except his difficulty of control. If the game were slowed down, Fox would be unbeatable.

And basically, Melee is actually pretty balanced compared to other fighters [or so I hear]. The tier list just tells who will win in against equally skilled players.

Also, Shiek can be played by anyone with two opposable thumbs, Fox takes a crapload of skill to play, that combo video I posted [which hopefully you saw] shows techniques only available to a top player, and it ONLY showed you the parts were the Fox was winning, so it made the Fox player look even stronger.

The Luigi combo video makes Luigi look cheap, since it only showed the parts he was good, check Youtube for Greenish Machine 2.

yeah XG agreed about cheapness, when someone uses a "cheap" technique to beat someone else, there is no point in complaining since if you wanted to you could always choose that char and be cheap with him/her, and if 2 players are using cheap moves then its not really unfair now is it?

I part argee. I Know cheapness is an illiusion but just some things, are so close. Like pushing me off when I'm starting to use Thunder. That is CHEAP! I know it's not but still. -_-

Exactly static ice, exactly. Instead of complaining about cheapness, abuse the cheapness, that's what I did with snaking. Only a few things are "cheap" enough to be banned, like Akuma in a street fighter version and the IC freeze glitch.

Also, Fircoal, you call pushing you off during Thunder almost cheap, dude, that's nothing. :P Only time you should use Thunder is after a downsmash or up-smash, when they are high in the sky pelt them with Thunder, however you can only hit them during their stun time, and because of DI thunder will almost always miss, and then I like to cape it if it hits. :P

If pushing you during Thunder is cheap, the shine is 20X more cheap. :P That thing is deadly, but Fox needs it, it makes a big part of his game. Basically, tailspike would be more "cheap" than pushing a thunder user. Because I am using Mario, a tailspike can kill me at 20%, but I have to bring him to 140% damage before I have the kill chance because Mario is KO-retarded. I still win, because I learned how to stop the tailspike...

...just get the heck away, there's nothing Mario can do head on, use the cape or your double jump to make Pika miss, Pika can't kill what he can't hit. Even harder to do cause my brother camps at the edge to throw me off and finish me off. I don't complain, but I wish Mario's fireballs were more like Doc's pills. :P More stun time/power, travels slower so you can chase behind it to cover you, and is akward to dodge. :P

Luigi suffers more to tailspike because his recovery is a mix between horizontal and vertical. If it gets hit at an akward diagonal direction.

no the shine and all those other moves are part of the game. Valid moves in my opinion. There is something wrong with pushing though. It's mean.

Pushing is valid too, just like the C-Stick. Although I wouldn't push, that's stupid, I'd forward smash you during your thunder instead. :P

Truth is, rolling is almost useless, its ok in a pinch but spamming it is bad...

You wanna learn better grabbing, here's the truth, Pika's grab range sucks, however I could teach you the JC grab.

You can grab while you are standing, and you can grab while you are running. However, the dash grab is slower than a standing grab. The JC grab let's you do a standing grab while running.

While running, press X/Y to jump, but RIGHT after you press X/Y [almost at the same time, wait a bit], press Z. You will do a standing grab right out of your run.

I hear that some characters are slower when they use, but most are faster. For most characters except one or two JC is best, but I think its bad for Yoshi, don't know about Shiek.

But with Shiek, you can dash, press A to start your dash attack, and then press Z RIGHT after, almost immediate. She'll lunge forward and grab, even more than a normal dash grab. Try it, its a useful trick.

JC grab is one of the many techniques, there is also crouch cancel, stuff like that.

I'm not only going to use Pikachu, I'm going to venture into other characters too, so for them, and for Pikachu's grab up, then smash up combo. ;)

Crouch Cancel is awesome for Samus, one of the best crouch cancellers in the game.

Yeah, I don't like what they did with it in Brawl. First you can hold A for the A-A-A combo, and then the clawshot homes. X_X It won't ruin the game, but I'm scared because often a new game will be "noobified", which essentially causes a rift in the communities.

Also, using the grapple/hookshot to grapple onto the edge is very useful. First of all, you can use it during an airdodge to make it easier to aim or get a boost [Called the rising grapple with Samus if you do it straight up]. When someone is guarding the stage very carefully the grapple is a nice way of getting back up.

My friend showed me how to extend Samus' wavebeam, but I don't remember how. It had something to do with the D-pad, but I'm not sure what.

The two things you need to do are:
1) hold L or R and tap A repeatedly for the duration of the grapple being out. Alternatively, you can simply tap Z over and over to achieve the same thing.

2) hit the D-pad up and down, there is no need to go counterclockwise, it is a waste and can actually make it not work the first time. You'll need to hit up and down the whole time the grapple is out.

If you are on the ground and do this, it will be longer the next time you use it, so you send it out, do the needed button presses, and then every time after that, until you die, it will be longer. To do it quicker, jump in the air a ways and simply airdodge with L or R and do the steps from there, it's much quicker and obviously safer to do it this way.

The grapple is not any longer in the air, and you will have to press either A or Z to grab (even out of a dash grab) when the grapple is near the person. You cannot grab out of the air and the homing function (hold L) does not work with the dash grab.

Something else to note is that the grapple, when extended, is out for the same amount of time as when it is not extended. This means that there is really no large downside to it, except for the occasional slip-up of the homing, or mis-timed button press of A or Z to grab.
