Im all for free speech, but free speech has nothing to do with a forum in a privately owned gaming site. Freespeech is allowed in public, and in his private home, and anywhere where someone allows it. He can certainly go a lot further than he has there.

He can go to Washington and post a big sign that says whatever he wants about anyone he wants if its just his opinion. He can even tell a cop what he thinks of him. THAT is free speech, and Im all for it, and will be right there with you protecting it, if someone infringes on that right.

This is a privately supplied forum, and a business to boot. While he can post that sign in Washington, he may very well not be able to bring it into a starbucks, because they have their rights too, as does CC. They can hold the same sign on the street in front of my yard. I have no control over that. However, I can ask them to leave if they are in my yard. That is my right.

It is actually you who are advocating removing rights, by suggesting that CC does not have the right to allow, or disallow certain content. I am here because it is CC's rights being questioned. Not hahahaha's. He knew the rules as do we all.

More importantly, it was not only the content of what he posted that was important, it was the clear and obvious intent to troll with it that got him banned. It wasnt the mention of a swastika, jews, or homophobia or a discussion of them that was against the rules, but the obvious intent of trolling in how they were discussed. Quite simply, he didn't do a good job of it. It easily could have been crafted in a way that did not break CC guidelines.

That was my interpretation of what a swastika represented. The prupose of the thread was to find out CC's stance on them, I just added my own feelings on it, displaying why I thought their stance on it was too harsh. All you just proved to me is that you're either a homosexual or a Jew (which I have no problem with, despite common belief).

It is true, actually. Collectively, no group cares what one person thinks, certainly not haha, nor yourself. Individually however, some people may or may not get offended for a great number of reasons, but their affiliation to anyone group is irrelevant and not necessarily the reason for them being offended, or more importantly, stating their offense.

There is a big difference between arguing against a stupid post, and actually being offended, or as I said, actually caring what your thoughts are. I myself certainly don't care what you think about any group, or any person, how racist, homophobic, or otherwise bigoted you may or not be...whether Im in it that group or not. Your opinions are your opinions, and I as do most, have plenty of better things to worry about what you think about anything. However, that does not mean I do not enjoy pointing out things you say that are offensive about another group. That is a completely different situation, and while you seem to enjoy pointing out differences in groups and perhaps poking fun at them, I find my entertainment in pointing out how that makes you ignorant. That doesn't mean I care about what you think about them for one second.

If you confuse that people enjoy arguing against such things, with actually caring about what the person thinks, you are deluding yourself. Its just that while you entertain yourself looking for reasons to poke fun of those different than yourselves, that you may perceive to be less than yourself, others simply enjoy entertaining themselves by pointing out your failings...which typically in a situation like this, would be more based on character, than physical attributes or race.

You are also wrongly assuming people are offended, when they may very well only be stating to be offended. While you may very well care what others think about you, that does not mean others care what you think about them. Its a common misconception, and often made by people with very limited knowledge and experience, not to say that you necessarily lack either.

In my opinion, if enough people of a group get offended by something, it is safe to say that that group of people is offended by whatever the thing may be. For example, a lot of black people are offended by the N-word, so I would say that generally black people are offended by the word. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm fully aware that you aren't offended just because you argue the point on the internet, I was talking about people in real life who get offended. Topics like this make for good conversations in forums.
