Trust me I hate them, but you have to agree that they have a complete hockey team, from goal-tending to Defence to Offence...

Sounds like you're talking about the Penguins. If the Penguins had either Crosby or Malkin, the Bolts would've lost in 5 games last season.

Although I never wish harm upon other teams' players, I do want the Caps to put the smackdown on the Pens tonight. Prediction: 4-2

Not the offensive output I was looking for, but for the most part pretty solid on the defensive end. Way too many penalties against us... but I say there were probably 1 or 2 that could have just been overlooked, and Beagle's penalty could have been negated by Asham's instigation of a fight well after the incident with Letang.

Still, my prediction was wrong, by 1 less Capitals goal. For that, I am ashamed.

Red Wings get a nice home shutout over the defending Western Conference Champs... Detroit is off to a typical start. :D

The Canucks have looked pathetic in their first few games, which is also a typical Vancouver start. What's not quite as typical is the massive fail in our ability to protect our star players. WTF!? It's disgusting. :-s Granted we haven't been a defensive powerhouse in eons but seriously, WTF?!?!?!? *sigh* Vancouver fans never get to enjoy the first month. Never. :(

As a habs fan, I think I'm in a worst position than the Canucks fan: Cammalleri out for 2 weeks, Spacek out for 3, and campoli out for 2-3 months. one of our top forward is out, and two of our regular 6 defensemen are out, without talking about Markov...

2 games for this really?

If you ask me, that wasn't so bad a hit...

Link fixed. I think 2 games is fair. I think Shanny has really done a great job with player discipline this year. We'll see how the season progresses, but so far, he's been consistent.

I'm a Penguins fan who loves Letang so I'm a bit biased, but I saw nothing wrong with the hit either.

The thing is we are starting to move towards a hockey where players will try to hit and because they don't want any suspension, they will avoid the player they are trying to hit....

Vancouver are off to a bad start. Leafs to a good one. Expect the tables to turn before the season has ended.

*knocking on wood*

Another year of playoff disappointment will be ok when the Caps go a perfect 82-0-0

Otherwise, Stanley Kup or bust

They lose in the first round against...hm...let's say the Rangers.

Agreed. And I hate agreeing with Wings fans.

No you did NOT quote that ridiculous, couch-upholestry-wearing MF! I have officially lost respect for you. Cherry is a bloody idiot. The players will get used to it and return to hitting as usual once they feel more confident in the stance of the NHL. It takes a bit of time to get used to it. I can't wait until the zebras get used to it. Once they're more consistent, the players will be more comfy. Cherry rants over every bloody change the NHL has ever made. He's an idiot. =;

I don't think they'll make it to conference finals.

Also, not sure what Malkin's malfunction is. They're not keen on telling people now that the NHL doesn't require it. I would guess knee issues or back issues. He's had problems there before. And no, I will never agree that the Flyers have an all around team. As a Pens fan, I hate them unconditionally and with every fibre of my being. It's the mark of a true team fan really. 8-)

Cherry is an idiot I totally agree, but when it comes to hockey, Cherry knows what he's talking about.

And the Leafs are on top of all Eastern teams but Washington! So far. :P
