It always amuses me when Europeans say that the United States is center-right as if that has caused us problems.

I never took it that way as much as I took it as simply making the point that "even our liberals aren't very liberal". Which is largely true.

As someone who has said this you are 100% correct Woody,I mostly used it descriptively,and perhaps to emphasise the point that often Americans are globally unaware and self absorbed.Any regular poster here can vouch for that.Hard to say if that has caused America problems or not..

If the NSA wanted to hack into google's servers, they'd probably have to break into their offices and do it on site.
If, hypothetically speaking, they wanted to hack into Google's servers with a laptop somehow, I would bet all the money in the world that Google would beat them. Google has infinity dollars to spend on this, and the very brightest minds that money can buy. Furthermore, all of their employees are extremely happy, so there's no reason whatsoever for them to sabotage Google either.

Hmm... Sure, the government didn't infiltrate their servers. The NSA simply asked for access and got it. PRISM is one of the many programs involving data mining by the NSA, so it can easily be the case that those companies were unaware of PRISM but were aware of their other similar programs, e.g. the Terrorism Surveillance Program (TSP) and those two other programs (can't find the article atm).

I'm not saying that JB is a liar, but his source and/or those companies are great at being misleading. Who knows, maybe JB rearranged his source and inadvertently spewed out something incorrect.
