Why yes, actually ...

“Look at what they [Republicans] value, and look at their budget. And look what they're proposing. [Romney] said in the first 100 days, he's going to let the big banks write their own rules -- unchain Wall Street. They're going to put y'all back in chains." --Joe Biden, speaking to a largely African-American audience in Danville, Va., Aug. 14, 2012
I quoted this Biden quote just to point out the kind of thing I'm talking about relative to being educated. The Democrats accused the Republicans of letting "big banks" write all the financial laws. Find out who wrote Dodd-Frank, who helped the people that wrote Dodd-Frank write Dodd-Frank, and who gives money to Dodd and Frank. I'm not saying Dodd-Frank is a bad law, I'm saying the talking points about "letting big banks write their own rules" is untrue.

Ray Rider wrote:I agree that Paul had a great night as well, and sometimes gave the impression of being the only adult the room. This was emphasized by his position juxtaposed against Christie's warmongering rhetoric against Russia, which was ridiculous. I don't understand why Paul doesn't have more support; I would expect him to gain all the old Ron Paul supports while adding to that because he's young and talks coherently rather sounding like an old grandpa on a rant (no offense to Ron Paul).
I don't understand this either. I guess I would explain it away as follows:

(1) Less people like his brand of conservative (i.e. the real brand) now than in prior years.
(2) He has more appeal in the mainstream (e.g. black lives matter) than with conservative Republicans.
(3) He's soft on terror.

I'm also not convinced that the majority of Republicans actually like intelligent sounding people. "I don't trust him. Sounds like he went to one of them Ivy League schools." I would put Jon Huntsman in that group too.

In terms of image, Rubio is the best easily. Cruz is too smarmy for me too; not sure why I feel that way, but I do. If I had to rank them (based on my personal taste), I'd go:

(1) Paul (closest to libertarian)
(2) Rubio (his immigration plan is the closest of the Republicans to my immigration plan and I like his plan for ISIS)
(3) Cruz (he's fiscally conservative, more so than Rubio I think, but I don't like his immigration plan or his "war" plan)

Ultimately I think Cruz wins the nomination. I don't think any of the other candidates will be his running mate, although if a guy wins he really should think about Fiorina to add some shield for Clinton attacks.

Sorry notyou2, you are wrong! The Republican Party is NOT racist.

The people who vote Republican are.
racist, racism, who fucking cares. What's the difference between a racist and an asshole? How about a racist and a bully? All this heat gets put on racism, and on top of that it's rarely even something anybody can prove and almost always it's empty rhetoric used by the unwashed masses. There are so many much worse things more deserving of attention and never get any. A man can beat the crap out of a woman and many people might think the guy is a p.o.s. but probably would never say anything. But OMG if you don't kiss the asses of every other race but your own, RACIST!

The end of political correctness will propel the country forward 50 years! White people should probably stand up to the p.c. bullies, stand together now while they can and stand up to all the anti-white racism. Black people voted over 95% for the black guy, nobody said a word. 95% of white people vote for the white guy and it's check mate. Oh, some have a problem when one race votes 95% in tandem, but it's totally okay for a different color skin to do the same thing? Those people are the true racists.

C'mon really though, is anyone happy in this modern p.c. age where everyone is a racist and all that matters is people's skin color? This, where all that matters is skin color, is progress??? Anytime a subject comes up for debate, nobody can get to the bottom of anything because the mob pretends they can read minds and know how people truly feel and think and therefore justify to themselves totally ignoring every point made (good or bad) based on skin color? That is where we are already set back 150 years.

And Scotty hits the mark. The word racism nowadays has been bastardized as much as feminism has by people who are oversensitive and use it as a false excuse.

so yes, there is political correctness but yes, trump is just being plain racist. There are racism problems and do you think that pooring fuel everywhere and playing with matches is the way to go for societal peace?

100% agree but Trumpet doesn't fall into the category of people being overly sensitive or taking political correctness too far, as happens so annoyingly often nowadays. He's just racist.

Yep. Being "non-PC" or an asshole is one thing. But Trump? He discriminates based on race (Mexicans) and religion (Muslims). The very definition of racism and bigotry (in general).

USG discriminates on race by only charging income tax to Americans living abroad, not to all people living abroad.

As far as I understand these things, Muslims and Syrians are not races. So Trump is not being racist. I think people need to get their definitions aligned before spouting off.

None of this disputes my statements. Sarah Palin went from obscurity to fame.

BTW... Mediam Household Income in Alaska in 2014 was like $69K.
That's pretty high, one of the higher states.

Still at $125K, assuming no other "household income"... i.e. assuming husband earned nothing... that number is nearly double the median. I couldn't find what top 5% or 10% number is. I did find the Top 1% in Alaska is like $370K.

So we know $125 is double the median; and about half the Top 1%. I'm guessing it's Top 10%.

The Top 5% in US is somewhere around $210K.

Let's screw the "fame" part (there really isn't any) and just look at the money. Where does she get her $12M worth from?

Her book?
Her multi year contract with Fox News?
Her husband?

Probably the second; she was earning $1M from Fox News in 2010. (Source)

Frankly, this is odd. She wasn't really on that much back then. The guy who runs Fox News isn't someone to waste money. She wasn't a "Chelsea Clinton." So what was that money for?

I sense the "establishment" in this one and when I sense the "establishment" I suspect that somehow the "architect" is not far away.

I don't know WTF you are talking about.

All I said was...

Trump is just running to raise the value of his brand. He's doing this because he saw what it did for Palin.

If someone who is relatively obscure can go from that to nationwide name-recognition; and simultaneously quadruple (guess) her net worth... what will it do for someone (i.e. Trump) who is already rich and famous??? In his mind it'll make him even more rich and famous... and THAT IS HIS GOAL!

Gotta love the sad "political correctness has gone mad" drones falling in line behind another politician telling them that they aren't correct.

and the opposite of political correctness is FREE MOTHER FUCKING SPEECH BITCH!

If speaking freely and refusing to strap into your p.c. intellectual straight-jacket makes people assholes..... COUNT ME IN! Frankly, I think the assholes are the ones who pretend they can justifiably dismiss anyone as a racist who doesn't go along with their mindless p.c. and furthermore concludes non-p.c. people are wrong and hateful and stupid and bigoted and p.c. people think they are perfect and non-p.c. peeps are everything that's wrong with the world.

Fair comment except this topic has gone do of track as a result of Scotty's comment. So to be more succint, there can be no worthwhile discussion till people stop plastering theirnown agendas everywhere.

Well the problem may be poltical correctness has in some instances replaced freedom of speech WHICH IS A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT IN AMERICA, many of those posting here may not get it, that said there are times when it goes to far, in those cases you have to decide whether those people have morale compasses or not. Example the derrogative term for African Americans, it is damn stupid term, yet every time I hear a black person speak it, I am stunned.ok yet not ok at all, wake up. The hate on both sides is winning don't let them win WAKE UP.

Correct you are mets, if you choose to disagree with what I or anyone says, personally I care not a whit what anyone thinks or says or me as long as its not lies. I make my choices based on things I have read or learned for myself not someone else's opinions, can you say the same?
