There is your first problem, you were trying to miss turns on purpose to gain armies, which of course, doesn't help because you can't use them on that turn.General Quigley wrote:My strategy was to miss a couple turns so that I could get many armies at once and then use them on a blitzkrieg to hopefully reduce my opponents to one. Ah, but first off, wicked isn't actually an admin... second off, she has no power to give "extra turns" to anyone. Before I could see if the strategy would work, it appears from wicked's comments in the game that she used her admin privileges to give her teammates an "extra turn" in order to wipe me out. This is clear misuse of admin authority is it not.
Paranoid much? Honestly, you must not play a bunch of freestyle. Teams use coordinated times to take turns all the time. It isn't cheating, it is playing well. Everyone on that team is on this site for a decent portion of the day. It isn't hard for them to find each other and say "Hey, let's go coordinate that next round real quick."In addition, during the game it became manifestly obvious to everyone on our team that the timing of the coordinated actions of her "team" were too coincidental for it to possibly be just one person. Being an admin, wicked knows her way around the system. Perhaps, the "teammates" are siblings, room mates, sorority sisters, or maybe wicked can mask ISP addresses or has more than one computer in her house. The cartoons of the team all appear to have been done by the same person too. Coincidence?
I read through the game chat and I think you are blowing the "dismissive, cavalier, sarcasm" comments a little out of proportion. All of us on Team CC are players first, then community members, then members of the staff. I'm allowed, as is wicked, to talk as much trash as we want in a game chat. It has absolutely nothing to do with her work here. Now, if she was dismissive and cavalier in a situation where she was acting as a mod, then perhaps, maybe, you would have something to go on there. Finally, it is hard for me to believe the Conquer Club management could condone the lack of professionalism exhibited by their representative, or condone the way she treats Conquer Club's paying customers. I have been a customer service representative at a credit card company before. If I had treated customers who irritated me in the dismissive, cavalier, sarcastic tone she used with us (laughing off or ignoring our complaints, accusing us of bad sportsmanship, telling us our complaints would go nowhere because she was an admin, telling us that she had admin friends who would exonerate her even if she were guilty, etc.) I would have been sacked with only myself to blame.
Someone was accusing someone else of that earlier... it was pretty funny.wicked wrote:I bet I next get accused of making the game chat disappear, being so uber-powerful that I can create extra turns and all.

To be honest, it is not up to you, me, or anyone else to decide whether or not a team of friends, family, or comrades here on CC should or should not join games together and coordinate their attacks. It isn't cheating, and you weren't being picked on. My guess is that the group of them decided "Hey, let's go play a game, oh look, this game has settings we like, let's play these guys." That's it, plain as the sun beating down on my head at the moment. By creating a public game and waiting for players to join you accepted the fact that anyone could join your game. Unlucky for you that a very good team happened to be the ones that picked your game.General Quigley wrote:Still, I do feel that to gather every advantage possible and then go looking for weaker (less well coordinated) players who are just on for a few minutes per day playing purely for fun, and then beat up on them mercilessly, seems harmful to the creation of a fun environment to play Conquer Club games in.
How exactly? Are you saying because there are well coordinated teams on this site that it is driving away customers? I doubt that, actually I find it to be completely false. That's like saying that people getting beat is driving them away from the site. Which is hogwash to say the least. At the very least, it's counterproductive to good business.
No they didn't, but they also didn't have to join the game listed right below yours either now did they? You truly have no way of knowing if they did it to "harvest easy points", you just think they did because you lost. She, and her gang of bullies, did not have to join the game we set up, and clearly did so purely because they knew they had no real losing chances. Did they do this just to garner easy ratings points?
Contrary to what you might believe, there are players here who enjoy team games more than anything else. It is what keeps them here and playing. Who are you to say that it is terrible behavior? Some people enjoy doing battle with excellent coordination, but that doesn't mean it is underhanded or wrong. They weren't sniping from a helicopter so to speak, they were just better than you for that game, simple as that.Anyway, where is the sport in that? How can fellow players here at Conquer Club condone and even respect such behavior? Hunters who hunt and shoot their prey from helicopters get no respect from fellow hunters, at least not real hunters. Laws have been passed against using dynamite as a means of fishing, for another example.
Nope, not really.Only here at Conquer Club do these basic principles of sportsmanship appear to be reversed.
Let us know when you find a site as good as this one.I am reconsidering my afiliation as a result.
You should play some games with JR.General Quigley wrote:Well, it sounds like Wicked and her gang probably did not cheat, at least not as the term is defined by current Conquer Club policy. As I said from the beginning I do not have such skill that I would be able to recognize it if a member does cheat.

I also still deeply resent the unprofessional manner in which she dealt with me personally. Apparently I am not alone in finding her manner to be unprofessional either. That she continues to receive sanction and enjoy the trust of Conquer Club management says a lot (to me at least) about Conquer Club as a business. I am reconsidering my afiliation as a result.
These are the main points I wanted to make. I have not seen them seriously addressed.

wait... im not supposed to fish with dynamite anymoreGeneral Quigley wrote:Laws have been passed against using dynamite as a means of fishing, for another example.
heheh .. did you take some points off Klobby, Wicked? how very immature of you!!KLOBBER wrote:This individual, Wicked, is by far the most immature and petty individual I have ever come across on this website. The fact that she abuses her miniscule authority and disrespects paying members like this on a regular basis, and is not subjected to any real scrutiny by the administration, must surely make the site look like a very poor experience for those who may be considering joining.
This thread and others, while they will obviously not break through the petty favoritism that this so-called "moderator" receives, will serve to show everyone and anyone who may be considering becoming a paying member what exactly it is that they are considering being exposed to.
The fact that such a petty, disrespectful, immature, and hateful individual is in the position of "moderator" at all is very telling of the deeply ingrained problem that the site's administration has.
I just want her to leave me alone, so that I can play risk. Is that so much to ask? Am I really paying to be harassed and stalked by a so-called "moderator?" That's not what I signed up for!
Her pattern of constant harassment of me by PM and in the game chat seems very similar to the multiple complaints in this thread.
Thank you, Wicked, for showing without a doubt what a crock this site's administration is.
I hope that any and all who see this will reconsider being duped into paying for a membership here.
Who wants to pay for unbridled abuse? Her rudeness and bad attitude displayed in her posts in this thread should serve as a warning to anyone considering this site as a friendly, relaxed place to have fun.
It is NOT. With a sociopath installed here as a "moderator," it is more a source of stress than anything else.
