Plash Ricrem addresses the media following his team's 6 round defeat at home by Duquesne (3896575)

"Well to be fair I don't have much to say about this one. It's another tough loss, as the shots just weren't falling, and I'm frustrated we can't seem to ever get over the .500 mark (falling to 8-9 on the season). I really thought we had a chance to finish them off early (collecting a +2 bonus after round 2, but losing a crucial 13-7 attack to break a bonus in round 3). The fact Duquense had some great 3 point shooting going (3 card mixed set in round 4) really didn't help matters, but when push comes to shove we just couldn't hit open shots (missing countless 3 v. 1 attacks). I've told the boys to enjoy the break and hopefully we'll come back next week ready to try to get over the hump."

Game 3896514

Clemson takes care of business at home against Maryland, trying to keep up in the ever-tighter jumble at the top of the ACC. It's almost like their football season, only nobody's losing.

Missouri let one slip away @ Kansas State
3896452

Kansas State coach Lincecum hopes the ranking committee will continue leaving K State unranked, as it allows the team to fly under the radar, not get too full of themselves, and perhaps most importantly, play with a chip on their shoulder. Speaking at the post-game presser, Lincecum had this to say: "Despite being among the league leaders in the W column and having as many W's vs. top-20 opponents as some conferences - I'm looking at you, Big Sky and A-10 - the committee has decided to leave us unranked. Frankly, I'm just fine with that, seeing as how the last time we were in the top 5 (and the featured league story) we immediately lost. Call it a curse, jinx, or bad karma, but I hope we are never ranked again...until we are ranked #1 at the end of the season by winning the whole damn tournament."

Asked about the Wildcats' most recent game, Lincecum had nothing but praise for his opponent. "They had obviously been to the Galapagos Islands before, because they attacked the map with force. An unlucky streak with the battle cubes nearly cost us the game, but our opportunistic defense led the counterattack which saved the day for us. I'm sure we're in for a tough battle when we have to board our Luggers for the away game."

The Fresno State Bulldogs pull to within one game of returning to .500 (8-9) with consecutive wins over Nevada and St. Bonnies. Maybe that little rant lit a fire.

standings have been updated through late Sunday night (needed something to do after my Broncos horrible defeat...ughhh!!!!)

Kentucky remains on top in the national poll with an impressive 15-2 record heading into the final 10-11 games, while a couple small schools Rhode Island and Eastern Michigan continue to rank near the top as well.

Also, note that my Portland State Vikings have cracked the CC top-20 for the first time ever...Go Viks!!!

Game 17 CUSA — Tulsa [Muleyak] @ Creighton [amazzony] - Game 3896560.

Muleyek whooped my butt pretty properly in 5 rounds on my home ground. Couldn't get my players warm properly and they just gave up without a fight

Welcome MUEagles79 as the new coach at Purdue...he has been sent all the backlogged games, so if you're waiting on the Boilermakers you should be able to get those in soon.

K State waylays Texas with a wire-to-wire W
#8 Kansas State @ Texas
Game 3930445

Kansas State coach Lincecum was surprised to find his team ranked in the top 20 again prior to emerging from the locker room for the away game at Texas. "I figured I had pretty well pissed off the rankings committee after my comments following the last game," Lincecum said, "but I guess they put us in the top 10 just to spite me and attempt to have the rankings jinx take us down a notch. Well here's some news for you, ladies and gentlemen of the rankings committee: UP YOURS!"

Indeed, with a dominant start to the match at Texas, Kansas State grabbed a first round bonus territory and refused to turn down the heat, forcing Texas out of the frying pan and into the fire. Lincecum added, "big cowboy hats off to Texas - they played their hearts out in this one, even breaking through the territory bonus at one point =D> . But like the Alamo, this was a losing battle for them from the start. We were not to be denied."
