Re: Post-Apocalyptic Mafia - Day 4. The Night of Long Knives

Post by Dlanor A. Knox »

I see 2 scum factions and a cult.

The cult is dead. Their leader is gone, so no more recruiting will occur.

I assume we have a few werewolves, a few mafs, and maybe an SK (the abomination).

That leaves us in a salvageable position. Especially if cross kills occur.

The masses the masses!!!
They are out to get you with the weeping willow of their eyes behind the socket depths of misinformation fooling the masses to CONTROL YOU, but alas to no avail, if all else fails, the terrorist are dancing, in the party, in the park, in the pool, i like to swim, but beyond the shallow waters I can see all your faults, but you cannot run, you cannot hide, you cannot die, but kids it is so important to study hard in school, give your teacher an apple and study science. Long live the king.

Is there anyway we can get some information on the roles of these two kills? Your labels give us no information at all so unless the mafia/SK/Mutants/Flying spaghetti monster has a janitor, I would like to know a little more if thats possible.

Also, does anyone else find it odd that he called night 4 the Night of Long Knives? For any of you who don't know, that was when Hitler killed off or arrested hundreds of people in Germany so that he could consolidate power. I'm really curious as to what this could mean for the game. :-s

Hm, odd that there's no mention of the gigglers. I don't know what the shadow points to although I suspect the abomination. Could be a mafia kill on the average man?

Does anyone get the feeling Vio could be part of the Christian Cult?

I will vote Streaker as well. I am on the fence on this one. I think by day 4 we should have something more solid then this, but even after a lot of analysis nothing is hitting me hard with the scumtells.

Vote dlanor

You always say lead votes with a case, and yet you agree with a bullshit vote on streaker and basically instigate a BW? Not Like you dlanor

IDK I think she has a point with this thing. Streakers words and actions are just going with the flow, keeping his head down. That is what a scum does. With what he said, no matter the outcome he would be seen as having done the right thing. Just keeping his head down.

My vote isn't a bullshit vote. Knox already made a case against Streaker yesterday, and I found that particular post scummy. Frankly any mod who wouldn't give a day to a sub who is replacing someone on the verge of lynching is shit. Not only that, he didn't vote for Fuzzy, but Knox, who hadn't even had the chance to defend herself yet. All in the name of progress or info, which is about the widest tree to hide behind. So there Streaker, there's why I found that post scummy.

Dlanor A. Knox wrote:The Pros and Cons of Streaker

Pros:

Point 1: His cases are very succinct and to the point. He tells you want he wants you to know. He's very convincing and in your face with his points. He doesn't waver.

Point 2: He shows town motivation in some of his actions ( caution with the Justin lynch is an example).

Point 3: He effectively runs his own game. He doesn't sheep off of any other players ideas. We can conclude from this that he is at least useful to town.

Cons:

Point 1: Rolefishing. On its own, Rolefishing isn't a major tell. Town does it too... but it's something that you need keep an eye on. Revealed roles help mafia a lot more than they aid town.

Point 2: Passive Aggressive. His cases on players are tactfully refined. He posts them and makes it look like he's sure they are scum, but he also posts things that distance him from the case should it turn out badly. Assuming there are 2 scum factions, even mafia has to scum hunt, to kill the other faction. Thus, they must be careful in how they post cases. I dislike how he unvotes Justin on day 1, and then proceeds to post an extensive case on him, which is essentially designed to get others to vote him. Contradictions.

Analysis:

Streaker is interesting. I can seem him being from either scum faction ATM. He is someone I would keep an eye on, but is not lynch worthy today. I feel that if he is scum, he's playing the "I'm going to find the second scum faction and lynch them, so I look town" card. This is useful for town because, well, he will continue to help us find one of the two scum factions and post content. Content is good for analysis. Active lurking is not.

With this slightly abbreviated case, I fully endorse a Campin lynch today.

Vote: Campin

Hey Naxus. Reading is tech bud.

Also, it's not a bullshit vote, considering that post is a perfect example of some of the things I posted up here in my case.

In other words, I was planning to vote Streaker regardless of Tails' vote. It just so happened that Tails made a good point and voted before me, so I praised him for his logic, and added my vote to his.

Furthermore, I planned a more extensive case on Streaker for later in the day, but I have been unable so far to make any time to do that xD

I see the reasoning for considering the post scummy. A quick lynch of an inactive player is one thing, but once a sub has been named, they should be given the chance to defend themselves.

jeraado wrote:I remain suspicious of dlanor. He is pretty much steering the conversation the way he wants it to go, and whilst it is meaty stuff, it is also exactly what I would expect a replacement player to do if they were scum and picked up when the heat was on. Shutting down a line of conversation is fine if it is a distraction while we have solid leads, but if we dont then it is not something which benefits town. Also, don't forget how close we were to lynching fuzzy, or how defensive dlanor was when he first joined. I agree that a replacement shouldn't jump straight into a claim, but likewise what we have learnt from the original player shouldn't just be forgotten.
I still believe that this is worth looking at. I'm glad that campin turned out scum, but lets be honest - we all know it was lucky. The case on him was pretty much dependent on his inactivity. The fact that dlanor put attention on him certainly doesn't clear him from suspicion. In fact, if I were a replacement godfather who needed to win the trust of the town, I would lead a lynch on my inactive scummate too. I'm not saying it proves him scummy, I'm saying it doesn't clear him from being scum.

Here was dlanor's reaction:
Dlanor A. Knox wrote:That's ok Jeraado.

I think from your reaction here, you are PROBABLY an SK or something. Actually, you're probably the abomination. I have role related info that tells me NOT TO TRUST YOU, and once I revealed this info, it is only NOW you begin to attack me. Because I threaten your ability to remain unseen in this game perhaps?

FoS: Jeraado
OK so first up we've got a great OMGUS reaction. Sure, he'll point to the fact that it was a FOS, but he was still trying to switch attention without actually responding to any point made, which is the whole point of OMGUS.

Secondly, the basis for it is post is knowingly false. Dlanor is probably the last person to have read from start-to-finish meaning he is aware that this was raised on day one. He didn't reveal that his role hates me, fuzzy did. It isn't only now that I've 'attacked' him, if there was any basis to this I would've done it long ago. If dlanor believed any of this he would actually have put some thought into his response. After all, he posted novels about campin and streaker. Again, another diversionary tactic to avoid answering questions

I'm going to vote dlanor, and I look forward to seeing how he tries to weasel away from attention this time

Yes i've read that case against streaker multiple times. But you didn't state anything about that case, you just went with someone else vote on him. A lot has happened since that case was posted and I believed, wrongly, that you would state a reason for your vote.

Look, I guarantee that Jerado is some kind of third party role. Maybe a lyncher. I have role related info on him.

In other news, what has changed since I posted my case on Streaker?

Naxus, I want an EXACT list of things that have changed, and how they have relevance to my case on streaker.

To be honest, if you admit to reading my case, you would know that he was next on my list.

In other words: The only reason you would vote me Naxus, is if you thought I was rushing Streaker's lynch. The facts are the same as that prior case. I'm sorry I didn't bring it back up for you, it's only 4 pages back.

What is so scummy about me voting based on that case, AND the info in Tails' post?

Well Streaker does actually contribute. Not so much as building huge cases on everyone but still participating.

You claimed the lynch on camping was due to your "scum Hunting" skills when really it was purely a luck lynch.

You argued with a few people about how flavor speculation is useless, although considering this is a themed game flavor spec is everything.

Night happened which was confusing anyway, minus everything else.

That's basically what happened the last few pages. With that said, streakers case feels pretty weak in my eyes when so much more could be happening.

Also, I hate to do this, But I agree with Dlanor that Jarado should be looked into as I have Role info about him that says he's not to be trusted.

also FOS Haggis for being unusually queit

Unvote vote jeraado, a far more satisfying candidate.

Wait, what? I feel threatened by dlanor? I don't get that. I raised a concern about him, then he went after me.

I do think that dlanor is scum, but my case is entirely based on dlanor's actions. I'm just surprised that its not ringing alarm bells for anyone else. Also, I've never heard of a game in which the mod would state the name of a person who is third party or scum in a townperson's role pm, although I can think of plenty of examples where a person would be named in a third party or scum member's pm
