Got a few gag orders in my time too when I tried to be a whistle blower of sorts against Mortgage Brokers...
But I never heard of a victim getting a gag order or anything....
You are incorrect. When things are in the court system, anyone can be placed on a temporary gag order until the matter is resolved, if the judge feels it necessary. Usually they just do it for trials with a lot of media attention, but they can also do it in cases where there is a possibility of threats and so forth. It just depends. Remember, no one is considered guilty until they are found guilty. So one of the judge's responsibility is to ensure that the victims don't speak too much out of the court and unduly influence a jury.
However, as Woodruff explained, most attorneys advise clients not to talk too much about details until trial. Better to say nothing than to say the wrong thing. In court cases, the victims are often as much on trial as the accused.
I concur. If i were the judge i would gag woodruff - just for the hell of it.
How about when V.I. passed out at his going away party and Norse, Dancing Mustard, DAZ and Chaos took turns . . . can he sue them for that? Can i sue for the mental and emotional trauma i suffered when i accidentally opened the bedroom door and photographed it? Can we at least sue Norse for pissing on the rug?
Do they have woodruff and his family in witness protection yet? You can never be too careful.
