I did that and tried inviting some of the people in this thread to play on my team against Blitz. Unsurprisingly, most of them were on someone's foe list and therefore cannot join the game.Scott-Land wrote:So all you kids that don't like Blitz's methods or want to prevent a particular player from getting to the top, do what I did... I joined against them and took more away in points than I would ever in a thread. Gather your best team and play the man on Pelop War and beat 'em so he doesn't get to the top, don't bitch about it. Sometimes I'd lose but more times than not I would win-- that's where you should fight the fight, not in some bullshit jealousy thread. But again for 99% of you, you'd get your asses handed to you so you'd rather hide behind your posts instead of playing.

That's it?Blitzaholic wrote:thx all
and thx for all who teamed with me during that time, you are deserve the credit as well, could not of done it without you all, which includes:

You should know who has you on ignore..... politely pm them and say wat's up. If they give you a valid reason for having you on ignore, then it's their prerogative, if not then they're a bitch and you've still won without playing them. Not a valid reason, post in callouts or in here... state your point. You'll get a game-- Blitz is a reasonable fella, if one of his teammates has you on ignore, he'll talk to 'em and most likely get you the game you want.denominator wrote:I did that and tried inviting some of the people in this thread to play on my team against Blitz. Yeah, they all pretty much do when it comes to the top of the scoreboard. Dabblers and renaissance men tend not to stay at very high rank.natty_dread wrote:noDoesn't everybody do something in one fashion or another to optimize the amount of points they can win
The "top of the scoreboard" wasn't specified in the original question.Incandenza wrote:Yeah, they all pretty much do when it comes to the top of the scoreboard. It is pretty easy to maintain a major rank, playing whatever settings you want to, which is what I do.Incandenza wrote:Yeah, they all pretty much do when it comes to the top of the scoreboard. But it was implied in the ongoing discussion in the thread, which is "things that blitz in particular and others in general do to get to the top few slots of the scoreboard."natty_dread wrote:The "top of the scoreboard" wasn't specified in the original question.Incandenza wrote:Yeah, they all pretty much do when it comes to the top of the scoreboard. I concur. I think anyone with a good head on their shoulders and the discipline to stay away from assdoodles should be able to stay above 2000 without too much effort. But doubling that? Hell, tripling it, like scott and herp and sjnap did? That's a whole different kettle of fish right there.nagerous wrote:It is pretty easy to maintain a major rank, playing whatever settings you want to, which is what I do.
It takes a little effort to maintain 4000+ points but anywhere from 3500 - 4000 , I think know any of the top players can do it w/ their eyes closed if they keep a consistent game count. Only some of us can do it with any and all game types tho'natty_dread wrote:The "top of the scoreboard" wasn't specified in the original question.Incandenza wrote:Yeah, they all pretty much do when it comes to the top of the scoreboard. I don't even have the discipline to stay away from assdoodles!Incandenza wrote:But it was implied in the ongoing discussion in the thread, which is "things that blitz in particular and others in general do to get to the top few slots of the scoreboard."natty_dread wrote:The "top of the scoreboard" wasn't specified in the original question.Incandenza wrote:Yeah, they all pretty much do when it comes to the top of the scoreboard. When I talk about the top of the scoreboard, I really mean like 4000+, 4500+, not like the first couple of pages. I'm talking like the top tenth of a percent... Anyone who really wants to get up to those rarified heights need to specialize, and sometimes they specialize in something dodgy (or something that was dodgy at the time and has since been ruled illegal). But that's their lookout. And even the "dodgy" bit is open to interpretation, so basically I dunno why there's so much agonized hand-wringing.nagerous wrote:I don't even have the discipline to stay away from assdoodles! And all well and good that those guys managed to get so high but the methods used were questionable at best, Herpes opponents in City Mogul 1vs1 for example were nearly always inexperienced new players who didn't know how freestyle on that map would work, even if they were not directly breaking the rules.. but that is a different point to the one I was actually making, which was a rebuttal of your original quote.
That's the exact point I was trying to make before in an earlier post. Herpes beat a ton of noobs on CIty Mogul , sure, but the point is he he would beat the hell out of you on it as well. Statements like that are a complete joke. Guys that can't beat him on the map and spew out garbage that he has to beat noobs in order to get to Conqueror. Do I agree with getting there by playing 1 vs 1s ? No, but I don't take away from the skill level required because Herpes prolly beat me 50% of the time on the map and would certainly crush your little ass 100% of the time if you grew enough balls to join against him. But you don't, you sit by and judge that he beats noobs. Isn't this entire thread about hypocrisy ?? But yet no one really sees the hypocrisy being spewed by these Monday morning fucking armchair quarterbacks.nagerous wrote: Herpes opponents in City Mogul 1vs1 for example were nearly always inexperienced new players who didn't know how freestyle on that map would work, even if they were not directly breaking the rules.. but that is a different point to the one I was actually making, which was a rebuttal of your original quote.

Just feel like i should clarify my belief on this matter, I could care less if blitzaholic does this to gain points it is his choice how and what he plays. That said it is the fact that he looked at other players in a negative way for using dodgy strategies to get to the top and now is using one himself that bothers me.Incandenza wrote:When I talk about the top of the scoreboard, I really mean like 4000+, 4500+, not like the first couple of pages. Exactly... if you want to attack a player for his shadiness then use examples like that Heckler or Hoekster guy not one that will outplay you under the table. Don't attack guys that are better than you like the Blitz's and the Herpe's.army of nobunaga wrote:i like drama... but someone please explain to me what blitz is doing that 200 other top players dont? At least he doesnt play nothing but privates down in freestyle trap games 1vs1... which to me is lower than scum.

Actually this seems to basically be a "bait and flame" Blitz thread. Really strange thread and strangely it has remained unlocked.army of nobunaga wrote:i like drama... but someone please explain to me what blitz is doing that 200 other top players dont? I was agreeing with you... was making a point to all the other posts, referencing Naggers post.army of nobunaga wrote:Scott-Land wrote:Exactly... if you want to attack a player for his shadiness then use examples like that Heckler or Hoekster guy not one that will outplay you under the table. I didnt attack him, and I wouldnt, I respect him.
I see others doing that. And it probably is mostly jealousy. But I think the point is that the point system is what is setting everyone against one another.
