Week 2 Q1
Wow - week 2 started off with a bang.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... _US#gid=23

  • The Dutch kicked off their game in England with 3 highlight reel TD scores and came within just 10 yards of a 4th. They're up 21-0.
  • Nearby, the Irish also put up 21 points, thanks in large part to recent call-up vykingsfan64. On the opposite side, the lone efforts of dorsettrob put up 6 points to keep the game in reach.
  • The remaining games remain close with Portugal just 5 up on Germany and Charleston/New York City holding slim 3 point leads over Great Lakes/Puget Sound (respectively).

Apologies for the delay. I just moved in with my girlfriend recently and have been very busy, but things are settling down and will be creating new games today!

Week 2 Q2
Only one game of the 5 remains close heading into the half, with the remainders looking a little lopsided. Will the underdog teams rally in the locker room and mount a 2nd half comeback?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... _US#gid=23

  • The Dutch scored again and held the Brits to a FG to expand their lead 27-3.
  • Three other games hold at least a 10 point lead, giving Charleston, Portugal and Ireland something to hold on to.
  • Puget Sound's offense continued to sputter, but rookie Willow.Kings scored a solo TD to put them on the board. Despite a 61% completion rate, the Sound have been unable to execute in the red zone. This game remains very close with NYC holding a 4 point lead via workhorse Kondrad's solo TD and special teams play.

Sorry, I missed this.

Wepuckett did log in yesterday, so I have sent one final round of invites. If they are missed, I'll try to find another fill-in (unless Tin Trumpet has someone in mind?)

Week 2 Q3
One quarter remains and a few games are still very close!
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... _US#gid=23

  • The British went into halftime down 27-3. Whatever was said in the locker room seemed to work as they began the 2nd half with 3 highlight reel touchdowns, including 2 back-to-back from QB dominator2000. Unfortunately, they were unable to keep the Dutch off the board, as wepuckett and co added 2 more to move ahead 39-24. Do the Brits have more magic left to continue their comeback?
  • Puget Sound got on the board with a 7 point TD and held NYC scoreless to take a 3 point lead 13-10.
  • Portugal maintained their lead going 27-20, but Germany came very close to scoring multiple TDs. This game could come down to an exciting finsh.
  • Charleston & Ireland both hold 14+ point leads heading into the last quarter, but will head to their opponents home turf, where anything can happen. Stay tuned!

I'm stupid. I can't have teammates fill in for a missing player because of the trips game. Doh.

As is surely evident by now, I have been unable to keep up with this tournament. Of the 4 active tournaments I am organizing, this one is one of the most time consuming to manage and as life has changed and free time greatly decreased, it has become neglected and I apologize for that.

In order to avoid abandonment (and to keep this from lasting years, I will need some help with things like creating games and sending invites. This will make for a much faster turnaround each quarter. I will share co-organizer credit with the player(s) who contribute for the remainder of the tournament. If you are interested, please message me privately. Please list tournaments you've organized, if any - as experience is preferred, but not required.

Week 2 Finals
  • Charleston 29 over Great Lakes 16
  • Portugal 41 over Germany 32
  • Ireland 33 over San Francisco 15
  • Puget Sound over New York City 10
  • Netherlands 46 over England 30

Week 2 turned into a scoring frenzy - a combined 279 points were scored by all teams. WOW!

Many players made highlight reel scores this week (along with some impressive team efforts), but among them Willo.Kings stood tall, completing 10 of 12 plays for 180 yards and 2 personal TDs - including a 4th quarter sweep that sealed the Victory for Puget Sound.

I hope you all left something in the tank as Week 3 is now underway!

Week 3 Q1
  • All 3 of Ireland's playmakers (machrs, vykingsfan64, adam666) reeled off lightning quick TDs in the 1st quarter to put the Irish up 21-6 over a stunned Portugal.
  • Great Lakes holds a slim lead over England, ending the 1st quarter 18-14 in what is shaping up to be a shootout. Both of these teams are still looking for their first win - who wants it more? Potentially megaswoman, who went 3-3 for 80 yards & 2 TDs on England's turf.
  • New York 7-0 lead over San Francisco, who also seeking their first W.
  • Germany played strong defense and put together an 85-yard scoring drive to go up 7-0. Charleston, who fell 10 yards shy of scoring, has gone 2-0 this season, largely on the fleet feet of Wendt100. He went 3-3 for all of Charleston's 70 yards.
