I've seen photos of Liberals protesting. They don't take guns to the protest. They then riot and destroy buildings etc.
I've seen photos of Muslims protesting. They don't take guns to the protest. The police slaughter them.
Why can't everybody protest peacefully?
This is meant to be a joke right?
not a joke really. I'm sure you can see my obvious bias, but thats not really the point. I'm more curious about the differences in the ways people protest, the reactions from governments etc. For example, the recent convervatives at the tea parties had guns but were all peaceful. Sometimes they yelled out of turn at meetings...but thats about it from what I heard. When people protest the WTO, they usually end up rioting. Why? At the recent elections in the middle east where nobody believed the results, the civilians protested, didn't sound like they were rioting, and were in the end shot to disperse the protests.
I'll answer this, even know you are not going to be happy.
Conservatives are peaceful, did you not see the townhall meetings? By what definition is that peaceful, they were shouting and angry and scaremongering the whole time. Also the complete lack of knowledge that most of these people possessed led me to believe that the only reason they never shot anyone was because they didn't know how to turn the safety catch off. Add onto this the "1.7 million people" who marched in Washington, calculated by "University of somewhere". Also, bring guns to an area where the president is. He may not have shot anyone, but he's definitely disturbing the peace, as someone famous once said "A lack of fighting does not mean that there is peace".
You need to learn the difference between liberals and anarchists. The trouble at G8, WTO and Davos are caused primarily by anarchists or other extreme left groups, not the people who are fighting for true liberal causes. Also bear in mind that the liberal sections of society on average organise protests on a much more frequent scale then the conservative populations (maybe because liberals tend to be younger and more active, not too sure why) so any records of "violent protests" need to take this into account.
Finally, I'm a little surprised by this. I thought you were going to say Muslims are always causing trouble at protests (not true, but every time anything small happens at their rallies it receives huge media attention). The reason the police and authorities are so heavy handed in Muslim countries, the same reason as why this is the case in other developing countries, the states are autocratic and do not like dissent from the population (especially when you are defending a fixed election).
