samyrana (the dude who made these accusations), c====8, hugosammy, joysticklagrimin, navajajaro, prostachona are multis

All multis have been warned and blocked from playing in the same game.

Multi's

Post by Scarus »

I personally haven't had too much of a prob with multi's, (knock on wood), but it seems like the problem is way out of control. I know that Lack is reluctant to ban multiple users who use the same ip addy for fear that he will unfairly punish people who use school computer labs, but I think that the risk/benfit analysis pertaining to the implementation of such a rule has shifted radically in favor of banning multiple users on the same IP. With probably over 500 abuses this looks to be way out of control.
My earlier suggestion was to allow the multiple users on a single IP if one of them would spring for a premium account. At least that would give these people a way to play if they really wanted too.

Another idea is to preclude multiple users on the same IP unless the users formally apply to Lack for that privilege. A simple email to lack saying that the person goes to Y.U. and asking that he be exempt from the rule would be enough. I'd be willing to bet that such a rule would reduce this, the biggest problem we have here, by at least 50%, if not much more.

It does seem like it is starting to run ramped here on the boards. Out of the 20 some games I've played in, I've been stuck against 1 multi. Hopefully more can be done to alleviate the problem.

The last thing we need is Joe McCarthy spewing accusations. There was enough of that long ago. ;) hehe Interesting name choice.

Im proud to witchunt this twerp. He deadbeated a team game he and I were in, then came back and made a turn but got knocked out quick. Then he kept coming into the chat and giving me shit about how he wanted me to win it for him and telling me what to do, like hes the damned expert, the deadbeat.

Not only that, hes probably a damned commie to boot.

Firstly on Scarus' banning more than one account on a single IP... I log in from several computers, including public (college) ones. I think the obvious drawback of banning in such a way is a very big one, and outweighs the benefits... that's just my opinion though.

Secondly
hes probably a damned commie to boot

I'm assuming that was meant as an insult... but I never really got quite how...

Paranoid

Post by kbchilla »

I don't think I've ever encountered a true multi in a game but my paranoia tells me otherwise.
