Some oldies you've already probably played, but just in case:KidWhisky wrote:Ok I'm looking for a good RPG to waste my time with. I know that there are a ton of them out there but I have been out of the gaming "loop" for a while now and could use a hand finding a good one. Something in the medievil, swords, arrows, dragons type game. I'm also looking for something quite lengthy with a fairly good story line. Any ideas?

I never liked it. Which is weird.Timminz wrote:Oblivion is the most popular amongst people I know.
Did you get mods for it? With mods it becomes great.thegreekdog wrote:I never liked it. Which is weird.Timminz wrote:Oblivion is the most popular amongst people I know.

You know, Dragon Age is out for the PC as well.thegreekdog wrote:Console? - Dragon Age
Computer - Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II
I would recommend BG and BGII.

It is a bit of a bummer... But you can become Marshall, which is close. I do agree about it dragging on though... It can be kinda tedious after a while, but then I just take a break and come back in a couple months when I'm bored.KidWhisky wrote:Mount & Blade was good and some of the mods for it are incredible but I found that it started to drag after a while and the fact that you can't really become king is a bit of a bummer.

I wonder how much of that design was on purpose. Maybe Bioware said, "You know what? People that play console games are generally stupid, and thus would like repetitive quests." All of their other games (yes, all), are not repetitive, so this one seems weird that it is.Frigidus wrote:I'm still playing Dragon Age right now, and it's a lot of fun, but as a lot of others suggested, it is a rare Bioware game that fails to entertain. This is especially true if you want a plot and character focused RPG with a lot of sidequests.
