In this game, cyan and red started an alliance:
2010-03-27 10:38:23 - Nickxyx: Since pink (no. 1) and yellow (No. 2) are buddying up, everyone else against them?
2010-03-27 19:44:37 - Greyerg: I like the way you think, Nick. I'm in.
I posted an agreement to be in that alliance:
2010-03-28 02:02:35 - Roundy: All right, Nick, Grey, I'm in.
2010-03-28 02:02:45 - Roundy: Same terms as the others.
2010-03-28 02:03:00 - Roundy: 3 turn notice?
But red said this immediately afterwards:
2010-03-28 02:08:38 - Greyerg: don't think I'll last much longer anyway. Good game, folks!
Indeed, he was extremely weak and on his way out. I took this statement as a rejection to my agreement to an alliance. I figured he knew he was dead anyway, so an alliance wouldn't matter.
2 turns later he was down to 80 troops on my turn. I didn't have a set, but I was in position to take him out. Both yellow and pink, who were aligned with each other, had 5 cards and were also in good position to take him out; the next set was worth 160 troops. Figuring it would be suicide on my part to not take the initiative, I took red out.
I'm now in an argument with yellow (who I suspect is bitter that I beat her to the punch) over whether I broke an alliance with red or not. I think I didn't, of course. She says I did.
So my question is, according to the official rules, who's right?
Please note, I almost never make or agree to alliances, and this is pretty much the reason why. But for future reference I'd like to know if I truly did something wrong.
Thanks! This is my first post.
