World 3.0 Map (I finally got a crappy map up!)

Post by wrightfan123 »

Unriggable's Future Middle East Map idea has sparked an idea in my. I'm going tomake a map of the world in the future. Basically, it will feature the same crap the scietific community has been screaming at us about for the past decade. So here's the storyline:

In 2020, the United States annexed Canada, which made them the world's biggest country. Russia, furious that its claim to fame had been stripped, invades Alaska out of hatred. The US Armed Forces in British Columia invade Alaska, and the two sides share blows for a while. Meanwhile, our friends the British, parachute down into Moscow and take it over, enforcing Marshall Law. In an out burst thereafter known as 'The Russian Massacre', China invades Iranq, the 52nd state in the Union. This sparks WW III. Eventually, United States General Wade Hodson and British General Steffen Moseley corner the Russians in Austraila, fifteen miles south of Sydney. they evacuta the troops and drop an A-Bomb on the Russians, completely destroying Oceana. Meanwhile, a rift in the plates that reemerged Atlantis has sent California, Baja Califonia, and Alaska off next to Hawaii, and India where Austalia used to be. And Texas, whose football team was denied a national championship due to the stupid BCS, has ceceded from the Union, becoming the Republic of Texas.

The map will be up once I figure out how to work Photoshop.

India is actually merging into asia, not breaking off...eventually the himalayas (which is the result from the indian plate merging with the eurasian plate) will topple over.

Awesome how you include the maniacal egos of many Americans (myself included) into the pictuer via football games...

Actually pretty much all of america below the US is in a a pretty permanent state of unrest - dictatorships come and go like fads here.

Okay, I'll try:

Meanwhile, in Peru, Purple Fire-Breathing Kittens have burned most of the Amazon rainforest, leaving Brazil's economy worse than Whitney's Socuial Studies grades. Many countries start fighting over he land. In Africa, yet another chunk of land has flown the coup to hang with with Madagascar. Egypt has drained the Nile river out of boredom. In consequence, The African Wars started, where everyone kill Egypt, then got angry at other people, and killed each other. In Europe, everything is hunky-dorey, and Italy admits that their soccer team sucks balls. Spain and Portugal have United to make Sportain, the UK has broken up into Ireland and The United Kingdoms of Man-Skirts. Ireland is scared of the man skirts.

Im with qwert, its hard to comment on a map with no image.

Im not sure another world map is needed, but you will need to change the name because of the world 2.0/2.1 map.

So in 13 years you expect that through plate tectonics California and Alaska will be over by Hawaii, and India will be with Australia?

Somehow I think your time reference is a bit skewed by those occurences.

Absolutely! I mean look at all that has happened since 1994. For instance, we aren't listening to Ace of Base anymore - that's progress.

The story line is very funny, but 98% of those who could potentially play the map will never read it. The US Apocalypse map takes a similar approach, but you don't need a long intro - you read that it is US Apocalypse, and you get the basic idea.

I think you can do a near future map and make it work if you settle on one universal idea and run with it. Three possibilities:

1. You could do a "US Hegemony" map and make every part of the world a US colony... the middle east could be "Bush Country." Asia and the third world could be split up between US corporations competing for cheap labor. Europe could be shit like "France, brought to you by Disney." India is "Microsoft Tech Support." etc.

2. A "Global Warming" map. Land masses are smaller, islands are under water. Everything on the equator is useless desert with unpassable borders, and Norway is tropical paradise. Antartica is developed and valuable for it's fresh water supply.

3. "World Apocalypse" using the same principles as the US Apoc. map - hot zones, radiation bonuses and minuses.

It's a fun idea to make a future map - just make the idea simple if you want people to understand what they're playing on.

Get a map of the world topographically, and mark off anything that is below 50 feet sea level. that is your new map. It could look very, very different map.

Also make crazy names for countries.

We should move this thread to some other place like General Discussion or the Social Lounge. It is obvious this map will never see the light of day!

The only reason I haven't posted a map yet is I'm waiting for my Photoshop thing tocome. Once that happens, I wil start making the map. (Or would you rather I do it on paint?)
