Crosshair

Post by Chevron8 »

Conquer Club has a large supply of medium to large maps, but relatively few small ones. I have been intrigued by maps with overlapping bonuses, and decided to put together a small map that took the idea to an extreme.

Note that holding overlapping regions gives you BOTH bonuses, though I have considered diminishing returns. I've played a game or two on a physical mock-up, and it doesn't seem noticeably unbalanced, but I would like input from some veteran players.

Edit as of 11/29/10
  • Added an auto-deploy of 1 on the central square.
  • Reduced the long cross-hair bonuses from 6 to 5
  • Players no longer receive more troops just for holding 12 or more regions

As Chevron's opponent in those physical mockups, I approve of this map =D>

Nothing for a perfect bullseye shot?

I considered an autodeploy of one (and reducing the crosshair bonus from 6 to 5) but I wanted to hear what someone else thought of the balence.

I am just saying, it should be something... other wise next time i go to the shooting range ill just aim for the sides, whats the point if getting a bullseye if its worth nothing! 8-)

I actually like this idea.

And my opinion is worth 10,000x that of any other poster on these boards.

A little bit of hyperbole there, methinks.

For a map of 25 territories, I'm strangely intrigued. The graphics aren't "amazing," but the gameplay concept seems to fit in that happy medium area.

Excellent idea!
One small change you could make is the numbering system. either make it 00-24 or A0-E4(or A1-E5 whatever)
would you want to remove the bonuses for holding >12 territories?

Yes, since the larger groups are so much more powerful, I don't think there needs to be any additional bonus.
