In Game Finder/Start a Game - add map sorting

Post by remydog »

When I am browsing the maps in either the Game Finder or Start a New Game, it would be nice to be able to sort them by popularity, and perhaps by other characteristics - i.e. games with bonuses based strictly on continents, those where there are other bonus options, etc.

I definitely agree with your proposition; actually, this would be useful to many tournament organizers like me, being able to pick the more popular maps or base a tournament on certain regions of the globe (I could've made my 2010 World Cup of Risk a lot more enjoyable with this).
Good idea mate :)

Nice idea. I think the sorting could be partially based on the map characteristics outlined by the Map Info Database. So for example, you could filter out all of the maps that don't have auto-deploy, or all of the maps that don't have one way attacks.

Or filter on those that are or are not strictly continent based for bonuses.
