Win Condition Warning in Statistics UI

Post by Coleman »

Concise description:
  • We should have a win condition warning pop up next to the Troops Due in the statistics panel.

Specifics/Details:
  • This warning could just be a red/gold crown symbol or something.
  • It could be in the game log as well, such and such player is holding a victory condition.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Players may quit the site over losing a map with a victory condition because they didn't understand what was happening.
  • Since we show troops due in the standard UI now I don't see how this is any different.
  • At any rate, victory conditions are not always clear, and some players unknowingly lose to them on new maps, this would help eliminate that problem and could improve the popularity of win condition maps.

I think i could be useful for Sunny games, but I don't think it should be put into effect with FoW games.

I would like to see a clearer notice that the map has a winning objective. On some maps, it's not very obvious. I once won a 4-player game on the Baseball map because no one realized holding all the bases won the game (I assume, because I left it easily breakable).

I know BOB shows the winning condition next to the map. Maybe something like that could be implemented into the site.

All maps *should* explain that there is a victory condition in the instructions. If it is in the instructions then their isn't really anyone other than yourself to blame if you miss it.

Despite that I do believe in making things clearer. And this suggestion could help make another aspect of CC clearer. Although, don't do it in foggy games. Kind of defeats the purpose of a foggy game when you announce to the world you are holding an objective.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

I don't think this should be implemented at all. How much help do you need to win a game? Pull your head out and look at the board.

I say this with the utmost respect.
