I'm simply citing the reason for my 3-monther. There were actually more than that one item listed, but it's easily the worst of them (one of the other almost-as-bad ones was my telling Phatscotty that he's so dense that light bends around him, for example).

Insulting? Sure...in a humorous manner. Baiting? I suppose so, sure.

But flaming? I can't possibly see that, particularly given my occasional REAL flames on this site. If, as you say, it would have been so easy to come up with those (that I haven't already been sanctioned for), they would have done so, rather than embarrassing themselves with the examples they gave.

That's faulty reasoning. I know already that the mods put very little effort into the reason they give you for banning you. Apparently they keep a very thick file on all users, never once bothering to tell someone that what they're doing could get them in trouble. Instead, it seems, they'd rather spend MORE time and effort collecting evidence that they use, and when it comes time to rebuke a customer, they cut corners and give you the most horse shit reason possible.

I can't fathom why.

But with you, having done some simple searching of my own, you really like to make enemies. You're incredibly adept at going after individuals rather than their ideas. I don't know for sure about Victor, but since I have gathered that he and I are about the same age, I was presuming that his was a simple question, born of ignorance. From my viewpoint, it certainly was. I intended no mockery. I honestly have no idea what VOL means here, and Victor's interpretation happened to be exactly what popped into my head. I try to keep current on acronyms like this (I recently discovered TL;DR), but there will always be a first contact experience. Sometimes these things go badly. That is part and parcel of a medium like forum posts, stripped as they are of the non-verbal cues which aid face-to-face communication. I suppose that Sully could have simply asked, "What does VOL mean?", but it is more fun to guess, and frankly, it seemed to fit the context.

As I type this, I am just now seeing Symmetry's post about ViperOverLord. Not sure how I didn't see that, or how I wasn't told more posts had been made. I may have preloaded the page, then wandered away and come back, I don't know. It was not my intent to mock that user.
