in a freestyle game where theres a hold bonus that would win game - does the person have to hold it (possess) when his next turn starts - or when the next round starts?? ie. can someone open next round, while he has bonus, break hold before he takes his turn and avoid game being won???

With an Objective you always have to hold it at the start of your turn to win the game. It doesn't matter if it is Freestyle or Sequential.

So yes somone can break the bonus before the one having it take his turn and avoid game being won
