I ve been told cars there are worth twice the price because of eco taxes and that alcohol is like 100+ euros a bottle.

Camping in Norway? Sure, but if you see anyone dressed like an armed policeman then get out of there as fast as you can.

I heard that in norway you are charged for how long you sit on the toilet. As a result laxatives are good business there.

i presume u were looking at the radisson blu polar hotel. does 700 kroner per night suit (available some nights if u jump thru a few hoops before booking)? if so and u're not going imminently, then join club carlson (free to register) and i can give more details to u if u like.

a cheaper alternative during the summer is longyearbyen camping.

Thanks ian, but I went on couchsurfing and found a guy willing to host in Faroe, which is close enough.
