always kirk- the plot was the same every episode- he went onto alien planet, falls in love with woman who turns out to be some alien/serialkiller/hollogram
Kirk - The original. Totally awesome and went on away missions
Picard - Just too cool. Have a British accent even though he was French
Sisko - He was alright, but a bit of a pushover when it came to the whole prophet thing
Janeway - Takes no shit from nobody! The only female captain
Archer - Meh…
Ultimately, it was a tie between Picard and Janeway for me, but I went with Picard, just because…
In heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine... You got your things, and I've got mine.
I love all of them SO MUCH (in a way that's even more pathological and absurd than that statement initially sounds).
I admire all of them except Kirk and I'm in love with all of them except Janeway (well, maybe a little).
But, my favorite---MY FAVORITE---is Captain Archer! He's so brave! In fact, he might be the bravest character in fiction EVER!
I told my mom the other day that the moment that Captain Archer jumps through the time portal feet-first and kicks the Suliban in the chest was the greatest moment of my life. She accepted my statement as truth.

Ya, but he's almost inhuman, and I find doesn't have enough depth…
Picard, you could tell was a human being. You saw him cry, laugh and get angry. Archer just kinda kicked a lot of ass…

But Archer IS human, not a superhero with magic powers attained through contact with radioactive waste, which is what really makes him seem so very brave.
Archer was steeled by Earth's conflict with the Vulcans over space travel and inter-species diplomacy.
He took such risks because he had something to prove for all of Humanity. He felt that without his cold determination, Earth would be forever stunted.

Oh man, that post is a really funny joke...erm, if you were joking.

You're right, I was joking.
I'd have to be crazy to not be in love with Captain Janeway.
definitely Picard. it always comes down to Picard and Kirk, and in a fight Picard would win. Kirk only fighting move was the double axe-handle to the back - you know the thing where you put your hands together an whalop someone. Picard at least had more moves, plus he trained w/ Wharf and knew Klingon ju-jitsu and stuff. oh ya, he also didn't solve every episode by making out w/ green chicks or fighting someone.

.... whereas Picard's method of problem-solving so often looked something like this:
>> Geordi LeForge: "Captain, yadayadayadadeflector array with yadayadayadaneutrino emissionsyadayadayada and then yadayadayada with inertial dampnersyadayadayada to the warp core, might just do it."
>> Picard: "Make it so!"
... This kind of thing was the answer to at least 70% of the conflicts encountered in the series.... yaaaawn.
........... and I agree, the whole Ben Sisko as Emissary thing pretty much sucked, as did anything Bajore-related... But as concerned the Dominion War (the thrust of DS9), Sisko rocked.

Kirk fights more like a hybrid karate-jujitsu fighter. You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. Picard solves more by talking the enemy to death than the treknobable. For death by technobable, Data the ship's frackin' toaster, wins.
BTW, the New Battlestar Galactica would eat Picard's band of would-be thespians for an appetizer before breakfast. Hence why I called Data a toaster.
"There is only one road to peace, and that is to conquer"-Hunter Clark
"Give a man a fire and he will be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life"- Something Hunter would say

The new Star Trek XI (Summer 2008) is being made by many of the creators of Battlestar Galactica! Sounds promising!
