Super Mario World Map

Basically take this image and turn it into a playable map. They already have names and colors assigned to them, and I think it would be an awesome map.

Good idea, but you'd need an image that showed all the secret paths taken as well.

You also might need separate zoom-in maps for the island, the cave, the forest, and other areas not in the main map. It could be hard.

Someone started that ("New map ideah" thread), but I don't know where he went. On a different note, I love video game maps. So count my vote as "yes."

It looks like a lot of people have been interested in the idea. I would love to make this a map, but I have absolutely no skills with graphics.
