I see beta threads about. " what is your favorite song" or "how pathetic are you today"..
so I thought I would create a thread for that crowd.. --> favorite recipes..

so post your recipes..
because.. why not

Cooking is for women. This thead is the most beta thread in this whole subforum.

I'm allowed to say that because I am a woman.

1) I am not familiar with the phrase ‘beta thread”. I know what beta means when it comes to software development.

Is a “beta thread” an ‘unfinished’ thread? What makes this ‘beta’? because the OP didn’t include his favorite recipe? Please enlighten me.

2) What would be bad about a thread with some good recipes? I’ll start...

easy one... it’s just a marinade, not really a recipe.

Our go-to marinade is super simple, but guest who come for cookouts love it... just soy-sauce and crushed garlic. That’s it. If you’re lazy you don’t even have to use fresh garlic, you can use garlic powder... but fresh garlic is better.

Kikoman soy sauce. Any will work but this is commonly available.

You can use this with tips, chicken, or pork. I don’t use it with nice cuts like Ribeye, but it’s great with tips.

The KEY... DON’T marinade too long! A couple/few hours is all you need for tips, less for thinner cuts.

If you leave it overnight or more than 4 hours it gets too salty!

That said... the short marinade time is usually good because you can prep the food that morning before guests come over, and don’t have to let it sit long.

It’ll give some flavor after just an hour.

Adjust marinade time to your own taste.

You can play around with it too... sometimes I’ll use a steak rub and soy instead of garlic; or sometimes I’ll add Franks Red Hot to the soy/garlic to give the meat a little more kick. Experiment!

Enjoy!

Anyone got any good recipes that take a max of 15 mins from entering the kitchen to have food ready on your plate?

I successfully made a bowl of cereal without burning down the place. That took less than 15 minutes. I forgot the milk though.

There have been a ton of recipe threads over the years. Original one was Recipes and is where I got the Rocket Salad one from a brit buddy. There was a chili one, a cast iron cooking one, a roasting one, a canning one, to name a few.....

I wasn't out, I just forgot to add it. I knew I was missing something, but I couldn't tell what it was. Also, I didn't have a bowl.

It’s funny how he ignores your valid points and just throws insults when he has no response.

Like an ugly little racist, fascist, homophobic toddler.
