Limit of medals

You could have read it already in the dispatch that 35 is not more the limit for tournament medals and I was informed today that limit on 50 General Achievements medals still stands. For example mad777 couldn't issue me a GA medal for drawing the Christmas egg.

Please make it 50 > 60, 60 > 70 etc. thanks

No answer? I see josko.ri won another medal for Monthly challenge but since he already has 50 medals there, he got a medal in a different section.



So why I didn't get a medal in General Contribution or somewhere because being in top 5 of drawn eggs?

That is asinine. No other category spills into another. Either cap it or extend the limit for everyone.

100% agreed. If caps are going to be circumvented then OSA is owed dozens of medals, there are tournament and map makers to that will be owed.

apparently a number of GAs have been given for this reason. idk who set this precedent but it needs to be stopped and fixed. to date, if you've capped out in a medal category then you're added to a list in case the caps are ever increased, not awarded some other medal from another category.

probably complained and they couldnt be assed to dispute the number one medal holder from extending that lead!

This issue has been resolved...no exception should be given unless the exception is lifted for every single member.

I would not say my case was exception nor that I was privileged. I got GA Medal which is less worth than CA medal in official CC tournaments. For example, in CC Olympics CA medal is worth 30 points and GA Medal is worth 11 points. Therefore, everyone who earned CA medal is also eligible for GA Medal but not everyone who won GA Medal is also eligible for CA medal.

This was my logic why I thought it is just to receive GA Medal as replacement for CA medal but at the same time it is not just to receive CA or GC medal as replacement for GA Medal. But the site moderators disagreed with me and stripped my medals, so I respect their decision.

For example, the most upper medal which you quoted, from the CC14 event, awards GA Medal for more than 10 Cakes and CA medal for more than 20 Cakes. I earned 44 Cakes. As I was CA medal capped, shouldn't then I earn the GA Medal because I satisfied the minimum requirement for the GA Medal of 10 Cakes?

Who said anything about you being dishonored? This wasn’t for you to defend, this was regarding medal caps. Not you.

This whole medal thing is outdated. How did we come on these cap numbers anyway? Who came up with 30 for tournaments? And why was this increased to a cap of 50 for other types? Why don´t we have different medal types within category? Right now winning a 16 player tournament is basically the same as winning a 200 player tournament.

I agree here that Josko shouldn´t get a medal if he has reached the cap. I do feel, however, he got screwed a bit. Someone approved it (not sure who) and then they get taken away. For some of them he put in a lot extra time thinking he would get a medal as promised.

To be clear - I’ve always thought the caps were stupid. I’m a big proponent of a medal earned should be given. However, consistently matters. Issuing medals for one person while not for others regardless of the level of work is wrong.

If they’re going to circumvent the cap this way for him, then all owed medals should be circumvented in the same manner

I agree that it is not right to make exceptions. Just crappy how it happened. Still curious though who approved it?

would any mod other than teegee be able to make that happen? or at the least do it without teegee giving the ok? i doubt it. and it's no secret mods in s&m have a history of shady shit.

In the CC14 Anniversary Event, you placed 5th.

Due to how the Prize Category lays the medals out, you would receive only a Challenge Medal due to your placement:

• Placing 1-30 receives Challenge medals
• Placing 31-50 receives GA medals

You would also receive only a Challenge Medal due to the number of cakes you acquired during the event:

• Gaining 20+ cakes receives a Challenge Medal
• Gaining 10-19 cakes receives a GA medal

I guess you just need to not do as well in these events in order to get GA medals, lol

I am also happy to announce that the new tournament medals should be in place now, for both "tournament achievement" (winning) and "tournament contribution" (organizing), as goes:
35=>300
36=>400
37=>500
38=>600
39=>700
40=>800
41=>900
42=>1000
43=>1200
44=>1400
45=>1600
46=>2000
47=>2500
48=>3000
The bar is set high, so better go out there and be the first to get them!

Looking at these totally unattainable numbers. No one has even reached 300. Looking at the auto tournaments, there are many that don't give medals as prizes. I take it these are not included in these totals.
