Cheers everyone, this one is going to be my first tournament, I hope it will go well, so I will keep it simple!
I think we're all acquainted with the Dakar series, and it seems that there has been no tournament here so far based on that competition. Well, I'm here to change it!
Tournament structure
The tournament will be played on three maps: Africa, Africa II, and Rail Africa. That's it. Pretty simple. It will have four rounds. The first three rounds will consist of two 8-player games (1st round Africa, 2nd Africa II, 3rd Rail Africa). Each player will receive points after each round: - Winner = 10 points - 2nd best = 6 pts - 3rd = 5 pts - 4th = 4 pts - 5th = 3 pts - 6th = 2 pts - 7th = 1 pt - First to lose = 0 pts The last round will be the final round. It will be played on Africa (I mean the map, don't start packing your stuff just yet) and it will be played between the top 8 scoring players. An extra game on Africa II will be played after the 3rd round between players that need to untie their score in order to qualify for the last game. No points will be awarded. The winner of the final round will be awarded 40 points (the others will receive 6,5,4, etc. points like the other rounds) and be declared the Rally Dakar-Dakar 2021 champion!
Seeding
Players will be seeded into their respective games in the first round by their score at the time I confirm their presence in this tournament, Game 1 from the first round will have the best ranked player, 3rd best, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, etc. The odds. And game 2 will have the evens (2nd best, 4th, etc.). Round 2 and Round 3 will place the 4 best players from the previous round and the 4 worst ones in Game 1 and the others in Game 2.
Rules
Standard No teams Automatic Sequential Escalating Chained Fog of war (this is in the African desert, there are sandstorms) No trench warfare 20-round limit 24h
And I think this is it. If you have anything to point out, please say so.
ok - it's off to Africa we go (well, look out, for here we come....well we certainly do get around) and by rail is definately better than on the back of a camel.
Welcome deanof7 (score: 2402) and musicalmaven (score: 1854)!

True, it's much more pleasant by rail. Especially if there is air-conditioning.
