Last time I checked Mirriam-Webster's was the American English dictionary, which is used by Americans, not English or Australians.

English use OED (Oxford English Dictionary)
Australians use Macquarie Dictionary

neither of these publications has included this 'word'.

Did you notice the dictionary? It was the US dictionary. Frankly, this doesn't surprise me one bit.
