Post by nkoch »

I have yet to play the 3rd one, but yes, the first two revolutionized the way first person shooters are played.

The first one was incredible, I had never played anything like it before then. The second one was ok, but not good enough to be anything special compared to how impressive the first one was. The third one is good to, not great though. It seems like they had really good ideas and rushed the release of the game a little bit too early. IF they had tweaked it for, like, another month, I Feel like they could have made the game fantastic.

They were decent. Good even. Not this mindblowing level of awesome or mindblowing level of crap which seem to be the two prevalent views about the games.
The last part of the last game really irritated me, though. If you're going to do a shoutout to the original game, at least make the level original enough so it doesn't seem like a carbon copy. Different vehicles would have been a good place to start.

the first halo had a great campaign but a weak multiplayer. the second halo had a ok campaign with a great multiplayer. the third halo just totally went away from what halo gameplay was about.

The first one was great, the second was crap and the third was above average. I still play through Halo: CE's campaign from time to time, but there's no way I can bring myself to replay the second one. The third one might warrant a replay in a year or two.

Halo 1 has by far the best campaign, but for partys and on LIVE, Halo 3. I love 16 man infection games.

Gears is overrated (so is Halo) and Call of Duty 4 kicks ass!

yes, i've always loved halo: combat evolved. halo 2, i did not really like because of those little things (dual-wielding...and i've never like the xbox controller, destroyable vehicles, etc.) and halo 3..have not played yet.

And yet, you could use the swords in it, which for me (along with multi player) made it a good game. 8)

it was actually a 3-shot kill, and yeah, i forgot to mention that the m9D (halo 1) pistol was just pure...ownage.
i've also written a 40-page weapon/enemy FAQ on halo 1, but no one will accept it :(
GameFAQs liked it but they said i needed a walkthrough
and the others, told me i had to use ASCII format text only but i don't know what the hell that means. it's a .txt file (but the original text was copy-pasted from wordpad), and no line is longer than 79 characters.
