With the Teams Doubles League folding and the recent Monthly challenge wins over both U18 and Mythology, the team has gotten hungrier for more elite games. This month the vote was overwhelmingly in favor of the bracket challenge, which seemed the most appropriate for March. However, the twist will be that it will be multiple clans (and hopefully lots of independents) and will be an official tournament.

Basic Layout.

1. The tournament will be a 64 team bracket style - Single Elimination. Each round will be a single game on 1 of the predetermined maps per round. I will have a helper randomly assign the maps and then I will overlay the rankings. Teams will be ranked on both points and previous doubles wins with their partners. Teams will be placed in the bracket by the "selection committee" and will also be placed in such a way that clans would face their own teams much later on.

2. Each clan can enter up to 10 doubles teams and the minimum points in total per team is recommended to be at least 3000. I know 3000 is not necessarily "THOTA" elite, but the cutoff may end up being much higher so bring your best teams to the table. Looking at the people being invited, 2800 may be the actual cutoff, but we'll see.

3. The tournament is open to all of CC and the tournament would not be right without some serious "independent" doubles teams, meaning you are not in any clan. I won't be accepting mixed clan teams.

Rounds 1&2: Malta, British Isles, Alexander's Empire, Canada, Italy, Portugal, Asia, USA
Rounds 3&4: Europe, South America, Africa, Montreal
Semi and Finals: Classic

Well, G1 would be in, but unless you lower that "player score" requirement we aren't going to have many who can play. I think you should change it to "team score" instead.

For example, I'm at 1350 and couldn't join, and I'm the leader of my clan. My main partner right now, BaldAdonis is at 2100, so combined we make 3500, which is better than two players at 1500 anyways.

Also, don't forget, to get tournament privs, you've got to have at least 50% of the participants not by special invite.

The Imperial Dragoons will be bringing a team to the table, when will this be starting? and how long do you think it will take, as march is a popular month for folks to take holidays.

Im sure we can all work something out with a combined score Optimus, we are mulling over details right now inside LoD headquarters and jp is a reasonable guy... :wink:

there will be 64 double teams, the most you can play is 6 games, should be done by the end of march

Updated, this tournament is open to all of CC, just happened to really target the main clans. Changed the wording.

Going with total points, although your 3500 might put you in the lower end of the bracket OP. :)
