The offense of necrobumping is "reviving an old thread without adding any meaningful content." {emphasis mine} If you are adding something to it, or if you have any use for it, even just because you think the information needs to be reviewed, then it's not necrobumping, per the definition.

Bumping random old threads 'just because' used to be a pastime of bored spammers. It's just another way of spamming, which is why it is banned. Bumping for a valid reason is NOT in the same category.

-----Seems pretty useful for new comers...Games are still pretty slow/I'm talking the tourney crowd.Funny I thought that was against the player code in tourney rules. ..Just change...$20 to $30/$40 scam....Informs the public even after 10 years...Back then you could count the members by 10's of 1,000's. I've never heard that it was against the player code to take your time to play your turn. Also some people connect in CC only once per day, so you may have to wait 20-23h before they play again. Tournament or not tournament.

You're wrong, as you usually are when you bitch about necrobumping.

The original rule defines necrobumping as "(bringing dead forum topics back to life) if no new meaningful content is being added."

Spam is posting for the sole intention of being annoying.
There are a million ways you shouldn't be annoying, but ones worth mentioning:

• Double/triple/multiple posting.
• Quoting just for the sake of quoting.
  
  • "QFE", "QFT" etc. do not qualify as "a meaningful post", add why you agree with the quote.
• Posting only, or lots of, smilies.

• Posting rapidly in a short time.
• Posting the same thing over and over in the same or other forum topics.
• Posting "parody" forum topics that aren't meant for an actual discussion.

Laying aside the fact that the rule is out of date and desperately needs updating, it very explicitly says "no new meaningful content is being added." Says absolutely nothing about "new useful content" just "meaningful."

Saying "I know how you feel. Same thing happened to me." is meaningful. Not particularly useful, but does connote meaning, expresses a feeling of commonality. It is not necrobumping.
