esc and color

If someone has mentioned this before my appologies, a quick scan of current threads didn't turn it up. I'd classify this as an Andy Rooney / Cliff Cllavin little fun idea.

It just occurred to me that when taking in a map in an esc game, especially on one with darker backgrounds such as classic, the pattern of a player who is both weak and proximate is more readily apparent for opponents with bright colors such as yellow and teal.

It would be interesting to see if there is any bias in the stats that shows winning an esc on a dark map is more likely for green or blue, or, especially of late, slate.

Hmm you may be on to something... I don't think I've ever seen yellow or teal win... It's usually the darker colors...

As a yellow player I am always being pulled over by the police and followed around in department stores. I am not surprised at this news.

Interesting. My favorite colour has always been yellow when I play this game: I just seem to win alot more games playing as yellow. But I guess Im just superstitious.

Yeah, I've wondered that myself--are certain colors less noticeable, and does it affect whether other players attack you?

It depends i think it can help. eg. hiding an 8 looking like a 3 in northern europe as dark blue. But now more and more players use BOB i think it will be less likely to affect it.

Certainly especially in escalating games i will often check BOB before even looking at the map to see if anyone is weak.

But overall i think it makes no difference, and i would doubt there would be any real bonus.
