Hi folks, this is my first attempt at making a tournament so pls feel free to give me any advice on how it might be better. Since there are a heap of us that love and are addicted to playing Doodle earth Assassin games, i thought that i would run a comp. this comp will either make or break us.
The format will be as follows:
PLAYERS: 32 PLAYERS
MAP: 8 PLAYER DOODLE EARTH
TYPE: FREESTYLE ASSASSIN
CARDS: NO
FOG: NO
NOTES: THIS TOURNAMENT IS LIMITED TO MEMBERS ONLY (SORRY FOR THOSE WHO ARNT) AND WITH A RANKING OF CORPORAL AND ABOVE. (AT TIME OF SIGNING UP)
How the comp will run is as follows:
The comp will start with 4 groups of 8 players. Players will be randomly placed into the groups at the start of each round, and will play in that group for the entire round. Every player has a chance to progress to the next round by winning a game. All winners will progress to each next round.
ROUND 1
will consist of 4 GROUPS of 8 PLAYERS (32) and 6 games for each group. The winner of each game will progress to round 2. If less than 6 players win (ie. 1 player wins more than 1 game in the round) then the highest ranking(points) NON WINNING player/s will also advance. ONLY 6 PLAYERS FROM EACH GROUP WILL ADVANCE TO THE NEXT ROUND.
Round 2
will consist of 3 GROUPS of 8 PLAYERS (24) and will be played the same as round 1, but with only 5 games. Again, the winners of the games will advance to the Semi-finals. If less than 5 players win (ie. 1 player wins more than 1 game in the round) then the highest ranking(points) NON WINNING player/s will also advance. ONLY 5 PLAYERS FROM EACH GROUP WILL ADVANCE TO THE NEXT ROUND.
NOTE - there will also be a WILD CARD entry into the semifinals to make up the last player. 8 LOSING PLAYERS FROM BOTH ROUND 1 & 2 WILL BE GIVEN A 1 OFF CHANCE TO GAIN ENTRY INTO THE SEMI FINAL BY WAY OF A WILD CARD ASSASSIN GAME. THE WINNER WILL BE GRANTED THE WILD CARD INTO THE FINALS. (THE 8 PLAYERS WILL BE CHOSEN AT RANDOM)
SEMI- FINALS
will consist of 2 GROUPS of 8 PLAYERS (16) and will be played in the same manner as the rounds but with only 4 games. Again, the winners of the games will advance to the FINAL. If less than 4 players win (ie. 1 player wins more than 1 game in the round) then the highest ranking(points) NON WINNING player/s will also advance. ONLY 4 PLAYERS FROM EACH GROUP WILL ADVANCE TO THE FINAL ROUND.
THE FINAL
WILL BE PLAYED WITH THE REMAINING 8 PLAYERS. THERE WILL BE 8 GAMES IN TOTAL FOR THE FINALISTS AND THE WINNER, AND KING OF DOODLE ASSASSINS, WILL BE THE PERSON WHO WINS THE MOST GAMES IN THE FINAL.
Conclusion...
basically this tournament is set up for those who love and are addicted to playing 8 player Doodle Assassin games like me. At the outset of each round you will be PM'd the list of players in your group, along with the game time and password for the first game. There will be 2 games played each day for every group, with a day of rest between rounds for me to organise the next one. i will set the games up every day and will jump off when the other players start to join. I WILL BE PLAYING IN THIS TOURNAMNET, but as you can see by the setup, i am in no way assured a spot in any of the rounds after the first one.
At the end of each round you will be PM'd a review and a list of the players still left in the comp, along with a list of the new groups for the next round.
If for any reason a player misses a game or holds up a game, then a reserve of my chosing may be substituted into the comp...reserve spots have also been listed. Any player dropped from the comp will automatically go into the reserve pool, but at the bottom of the list.
NOTE
Thanks westside....If there are any players that are in your group at the start of each round that are on your foe list, then they will need to be taken off for the duration of that round or the games within that round. If there is any tension or disputes between players during the comp then i will adjudicate accordingly. Abuse and bad manners will not be accepted in this comp, and i will reserve the right to KICK players out if it found that that has happened. There are a lot of potential points up for grabs here so lets all get along and enjoy...
ADDED Sunday 18/5/08 - our friends at Random.org will be providing the random order of who will be in who's group. It will also be used to work out who will be playing in the WILD CARD game. There has also been a change to the WILD CARD game, allowing the 8 players to be selected from the losing players of BOTH round 1 and round 2 (instead of just round 2 as previously stated)
