In June, the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life published a controversial survey in which 70 percent of Americans said that they believed religions other than theirs could lead to eternal life.
This threw evangelicals into a tizzy. After all, the Bible makes it clear that heaven is a velvet-roped V.I.P. area reserved for Christians. Jesus said so: “I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” But the survey suggested that Americans just weren’t buying that.
Well it is a vague survey. There are many different kinds of Christians Mormons, Evangelicals, Prodistants, Jehovah Witnesses etc as long as they believe that Jesus is their lord and savior and have repented their sins then yes they can get into heaven

Yes, but the survey covers non-christian people also. so everyone, including Muslims, Hindi's, Animists, Athiests, etc. can get into heaven according to the survey.

Right. And there's no way that this passage leaves open an interpretation that the Son of God, described in John 1 as the λογος, or Platonic spirit that underlies the entire metaphysical structure behind the universe, could be reached through other means than just belief in the actual existence a particular man?

You are free to mock a sensible take on the entire underpinning of continental philosophy by creating ridiculous straw-men if it makes you feel intellectual.

By hubris I'm going to assume you mean my ability to consistently dismantled any of the half-baked garblings you and your magic-circus of Che-Guevara shirted lisping mingers make about Christianity being a fairy tale simply by virtue of expounding part of it's doctrine in allegorical form and then try to pass of as the backbone of a rational and logically solid inter-connected statement list sufficient to the establishing of a clear conclusion.
Not what I meant at all. This thread started with a poll that showed that Americans are much more tolerant of the religious beliefs of others. In fact, so tolerant that they believe the ultimate reward of heaven is available to all believers and non-believers alike. Your attack on that is one of arrogant snobbishness that is intolerant of any view but your own. You are in the decided minority in the United States, and we are all better off for that.

Well, actually, no. What is hilarious is that you actually think that complex sentence structure = intellectually superior sheep herder.

No? Oh, fair enough, it's just another nonsensical statement from an internet monkey trying to avoid rational argument where he knows he's going to get his ass handed to him by the entire forum.
I mean you know Backglass, "them damn Christian assholes like got de complex sentence structuhs n' shit, dawg!". God forbid you run up against that now, you'd need to go out buy a dictionary and everything.

Why are you even arguing with Backglass? Just put a straw man in your place and he won't notice the difference.
