Does it bother anyone else that the President thinks an American invented the automobile? It just seems like such a simple thing to research, before he says it out loud in a speech.
Don't get me wrong, I like the dude, but that seemed such a silly gaff.
Possibly someone was thinking about Henry Ford's assembly line? Did you know he was going to produce ethanol for his automobiles, but prohibition stopped him from doing it?
Maybe President Obama just felt the need to put an obvious gaff out there for you to correct so that his economic stimulus plan could scoot under the harsch scrutiny radar.
I actually got a bigger laugh at his 'hardest working people in the world' comment, because most of my fellow Americans (that I am aware of, of course) live with such a sense of entitlement that the right to get paid for doing half (or less) of the job is considered a God given right.
That same sense of entitlement that destroyed the U.S. Steel industry, and the U.S. auto industry, to a lesser degree.
I actually blurted out, "Mexicans?" As they are the hardest working people in my part of the country.
