Hockey Game Sevens

Post by Shivas »

I think only people who live in countries where ice hockey is big can appreciate the energy in a game seven of a seven game series. Just watched the Detroit Red Wings defeat the Anaheim Ducks 4 - 3 in a game seven in the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs. WOW. It wasn't even the finals. Both teams left it all on the ice. Even though I'm big Wings fan and am excited about the win, the Ducks played great and just as easily won with a few more good bounces of the puck. And when the series is over what other sport do the teams meet in the middle of the playing area, shake hands, pat each other on the back after they spent the past 60 minutes whacking, hacking, checking, and performing general mayhem on each other?

Now, here's my question for everyone.

What is the big, I mean big sport in your area would give you the same rush as the game seven in the playoffs? I'm sure you real football (soccer) countries have your opinion. Let's hear it!

Don't know what other people find that compares to it, but I was at the Wings - Ducks Game 7, and it was madness. Just crazy. By far, the best game I'd ever been to, and to see them win it on home ice, was incredible.

I'd say wtaching the Wings win in a game 7 would be at the top of my list. Oh wait, we've already heard from us.
