The two tried to rob of line of people waiting to buy the new gaming console early Friday. They confronted a "bunch of people who were in line" outside a Wal-Mart store shortly after 3 a.m. and demanded money, said Lt. J. Paul Vance, a spokesman for the state police. The new Sony consoles are selling for around $500 to $600.
"One of the patron's resisted. That patron was shot," Vance said.
You know you like your video games too much when you're willing to get shot over money for a PS3
In any event, suffice to say I hope these guys get caught.

and to think Putnam is a pretty quiet town. University of Connecticut is near there.
this is totally rediculous. for a freakin' toy. i hope this kids family sues Sony. it's a given that when you don't supply enough for the demand things like this are gonna happen.
i just don't know what to say...
shot for a toy. that's right up there with " i shot him cause he looked at me funny"
stuff like this just amazing

Why Sony?...they had to put back europe release date to get enough to america its not like they didnt try...and you can hardly blame a company for someoneelses actions
Would you choose supremecy if it lead to isolation?

Rap music is being listened to by 97% of teenagers, if you're one of the 3% of teenagers that actually listen to real music, then put this in your signature.

Of course...no murder is. But it was an attempted robbery for cash. The fact that a PS3 was involved had nothing to do with it...it could haved been people standing in line for concert tickets or the newest tickle-me-elmo, or using an ATM..

I just hate when topic headings are sensationalized thats all. Nobody was "shot dead for a PS3".

Here in Wisconsin, this Wal-Mart only had ten PS3's. And 150 people waiting outside. So the idiot manager puts ten chairs out, on a parking lot, and says, "Whoever can sit down in one of these chairs gets a PS3." He may as well have said, "Five people in the hospital and one in critical condition, please."

Children, this is what happens to hockey players, druggies, and Hillary Clinton.

Correction guys, he didn't die. He's in the hospital in critical condition.
Either way. Same story. Two whackjobs and a guy clearly too attached to the prospect of a PS3 for his own good.

you make it sound like what was going through the guy's head was-
OMG I NEED a PS3 your not getting my $600!
if you had $600 dollars cash in your pocket i doubt you would give it up with no fight what so ever
With some guy pointing a gun at me? Listen friend, I make only about $200 per month in my miserable part-time high school job, but if someone is pointing a gun at me, three months pay suddenly would become far less important.
