What qualifies a map as a crossmap?

You need to beat someone you have not beaten before on that map.
To get the medal, you need to win x number of games on y number of maps.
To get on one of the "privately compiled" lists (not official CC lists), you need to defeat x number of opponents on the map.
The only complication is for some older player who have records on maps that have changed. Sometimes those maps may "count" for the new map. That is only important if you are attempting to compare your score to someone else's, though. (also, some maps are no longer around -- Das Schloss is a prime example, only a very few people have crossmapped on that one!)

To qualify as a crossmap you need to have defeated at least 5 different people on that map. I'm not quite sure what player was going on about.
