Couple of things to add to attract people into joining:
1. What benefits does the clan offer?
2. Are there any requirements?
Also, this is a competitive clan right? If you wanted social you'd have to go to Callouts > Create/Join A Social Usergroup.
I would advise trying to recruit people through games you're playing as well, so that people thinking about joining will become more encouraged, and you'll also know approximately how good that person is after playing against them.
